our irish play usc tonight at 6:30pm on espn in the first game of the final and then UConn takes on Maryland in the second game at 8:30. our irish will have a lot of bigs to deal with but but just beat maybe a better team in Baylor so I think they can take usc

Ready to watch.

But … I'm nervous. Team is good … but just not as smooth as last year … so I'm always nervous before the game.

our irish started off playing really well but have cooled since. game can go either way right now

I am totally shocked that loyd has been so off on her shooting throughout the tournament. neither team is playing well right now. mabrey needs to stop going in for layups as that's not her game

Regarding Lloyd … I am beginning to think that in her first two years, she had Achonwa and McBride as the "stars" … she she could pretty much freewheel. Now she is the star … and the pressure is on her and thats affecting her shot.

Regarding Mabrey … she usually is pretty reliable from 3 point land … but not so much so from inside the arc. Amazing that she has so much trouble with layups.

turner is having a really good game. if she gets stronger in the off season and develops a nice mid range jump shot like reimer did then she'll be a top all-American candidate next year

looks like loyd has finally found her groove shooting wise. there starting to really get into foul trouble so the clock can't wind down soon enough

Not looking good at all. To many missed lay ups tonight. Fifth foul on BT was just awful

Wow, the SC player tripped over her own foot and then a big dive - refs stink across the board here tonight.

Whew. what a win. W/O Allen and Turner in at the end … gritty play to hold on.

Go Irish!

well DieHard nobody thought UK would lose and they did so you never know. great game tonight from both teams. what a great play at the end by Huffman. everybody needs players like Huffman and cable who just do all the dirty work to help there team

The SoCar girls were taking that loss hard. No matter who won that game they're going to get blown out by the UConn men Tuesday. I'm still glad ND won. After they showed the anti-catholic/anti-ND Steve Spurrior at the game I started to care about an ND women's sport.

What the hell is wrong with you? Step away from the computer for about a year, and take your ignorance with you.

I don't know what will happen Tuesday but what a great year our irish had considering everybody media wise was saying that this was going to be a semi rebuilding year and that next season would be our year to get back to the final four. I talked about her above in another post but turner is going to be an absolute beast next year if she puts on some muscle and develops a nice mid range jump shot

South Carolina has little offense. I can't see them making up this deficit.
as good here as you are at talking UM football

can someone explain how UConn hardly ever gets fouls called against them. they said last weekend during a game that there top two in the nation in the fewest fouls catagory

Because they play such good fundamental defense that they don't get out of position and therefore don't NEED to foul? Like asking why a dominant offensive line doesn't get called for holding very often...

UCONN is good and I give them credit. They are a legitimate dynasty.

But the refs are sometimes caught up in the hype as much as the fans.
They are in awe of UCONN players and Auriemma. UCONN players
get the benefit of the doubt from the zebras on nearly every call, and
certainly moreso when it's crunch time.

There was the Jordan Rules for MJ.

There is definitely the UCONN Rules for womens bball.

just like there are different rules in the NFL when talking about Tom Brady versus just about every other QB. He clearly gets special treatment and more protection.

Look at how much Jordan got away with in the NBA. Taking 4-5 steps and then dunking and NEVER getting called for it.

It is what it is.

Hmm. That sounds like the typical take of a frustrated Purdue fan whose team almost always loses to ND: "the Irish get all the calls!". UConn has future pros at every position. Their coach emphasizes sound defense. The games I have watched I don't see them as fouling much. They are seldom stressed to that point by their opponents.
