Managed to lose a game with 30 seconds to go.

Van Gorder is a disaster.

Just goes to show we can't keep winning ugly by not playing defense, not playing our best players and not hiring great defensive coordinators.
 
I know you win and lose as a team but its hard not to put this loss on the secondary that played really bad most of the night

I agree that talent is still an issue for ND on the defensive side of the ball.

The defense shut them down near the end though not enough for sure, but you might want to consider the redzone play as a factor as well.

Stanford has a good offense. To only blame the D is a bit of a stretch.
 
Stanford scored a bunch on USC, UCLA, and Oregon as well. Should their DC's be fired also?

Absolutely if they had ND's talent. Our coaching and defensive schemes lacked all year. You don't lose games with 30 seconds to go by allowing the other team complete a 35 yard completion down the middle with a 3 man rush. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
 
I agree the talent is lacking on the defensive side of the ball. I just watched the last completion and JS is to slow to react to the TE on the slant route. Now I am not blaming JS for the loss I am just saying with better talent the pass is knocked down or maybe intercepted.
 
Don't forget three fg's inside Stanford 20 yd line
A fumble on Stanford 23 yd line while within fg distance

If red zone offense was more proficient that ending fg by Stanford would be mute point

My God, you are sick. A few weeks ago, you were calling out Will Fuller. Earlier tonight, you were calling out Kizer. And I'm wondering if you are calling out Schmidt or Smith because I think Schmidt was spying on Hogan to prevent him from scrambling for a big gain.

Whatever. Tonight, I'm fending off Iowa trolls and asking if it is just our defensive coaching or is it the lack of good players coupled with the coaching. As to Obama, guy took office with two wars, an economic crisis (which is different than a recession), and a Republican Party that has refused to compromise on anything. He ain't perfect but he is better than the dip shit he replaced, Dick Cheney, and he is certainly better than Ted Cruz (the Christian cultist), Donald Trump (Herman Goering) or Dr. Carson (who may be a great surgeon, but sure doesn't understand world politics).

Only thing I said about Fuller was last week cause of his drops. whats your point. Overall JS cant be in your starting lineup if you have championship aspirations. he sucks. thank **** hes gone

Your team is mediocre and hasn't played any of the best teams in your conference. Your school is academically shitty.. MSU will pound your shit next week. The only area in which your university excels is boys putting on nut huggers and rolling around on top of other boys. Yay Iowa! Are you girls trolling MSU sites? Or do you know better because they're going to beat you by 3 TDs minimum, just like ND would, if given the chance? Where were you and the little fruit Trevor before tonight? Was it the ND loss or the big Iowa win over a 5 win Nebraska team that brought you out of the closet?

So, you're saying USC, UCLA, and Oregon don't have the talent ND has? That's interesting. I could have sworn they have very good players.

What do u mean lack of talent ??? . Jayson Smith is a high first round pick. Day will be in top 4 rounds. Rochelle, Tillery, Cage and perhaps K Russell will play on Sundays. Redfield was a 5 star recruit that flipped from USC . Luke was a high 4 star with 25 or so offers. Russell played better in 2012 and 13 than this yr by a big margin. We sit a borderline 5 star sophomore in Morgan and a really good freshman in Coney to play a walk on 5fth yr to lead our D. Huh.... lack of talent my ..... . Miserable coaching and decision making at coach level on D. There's no getting around it. We only needed an average D to be 12-0 or 11-1 and be in playoffs. Watch that UMASS , Wake Forest and BC to reach conclusion were at a all time low btwn what should be and what is on D . Stop being pollyanna s on the coaching issues with BVG. We are not at elite talent level on D but we don't need to be with what we have on O. How many starters did we return from last year's D ??? 10 or 11. After 2 years the players are still lost in BVG system.... what the hell..this is football not brain sugary. The injury bug was big obstacle but we had enough and enough opportunities to get it DONE! Van Gorder needs to be gone asap. I don't want to see Schmidt on for 1 play in this bowl game. That is all..
