Navy and TSU are not great measuring sticks, but ND did what they were suppose to do against those teams. Dominate the entire game and get a lot of players game experience.
Hartman looks the part and bringing him in was 1000% the right choice. The two alternatives are 2nd and 3rd string elsewhere.
NC State will give ND a better clue as to how good they are. I still look for a comfortable ND victory before a true measuring stick.
The OSU didn’t look sharp in game one but they didn’t exactly open with a directional school. They have another week+ to get things figured out. I think they’ll better by the time they got to SB.
There are as many LSU/BK threads as ND threads. It looks like ND was not holding BK back, may have been the other way around.
