Just one comment on Coach 8 & 4: When he came here 7 years ago, he stood up on his soap box and told us he didn’t care for the type of players he saw on the roaster. He wanted to bring in his RKG’s, the right kind of guys; he’s had 7 years to do that. Now, with this last press conference, he distances himself from their contributions, their talents and their commitment to the Notre Dame program. He bears no responsibility; (even though he recruited them, trained them and prepared them) at least he didn’t at that press conference, to the quality of their play. This is no longer about him, but on all of those who do not exhibit the enthusiasm for his leadership and skills in preparing his team to play. Fine, good for you Coach 8 & 4, we’re the ones watching this mess. You have failed at every opportunity to present this team. The mille-second you had any moment of success, what was your first impulse – seek an interview with a Pro team. Much Like Ty, arranging two 3 year contracts so you could bolt at any moment for the pros, this exercise was your way of paving a career path to something else. What worked at D2 doesn’t translate at this level. Now you are frustrated and amazed that here, with this talent level, your style doesn’t work.

Finally, Swarbrick and the legion of 8 & 4 apologists now see what any objective observer has understood for the last 5 years - Kelly is a product of the Peter Principal and we are the ones who are damaged. Whatever happens, no more blow holes from the east coast. Get someone who has earned the respect of the industry and someone who can earn the respect of the fans. WE are the consumers.

ya know there really is no such thing as an RKG, right?

ND needs some nasty minded football players, not choir boys!
As of now the 'nasty' is the demeanor and attitude of the head coach!

This team is weak physically and mentally and that falls on the HC. He is not the RKG for this team. The guys flat out sucks at making decisions. He has no balls at all. This team is good enough to be 4-0 because the 3 losses are to average to bad teams.
Game # 1 example 4th and 2 from the ND 40 up by 4 on the road. Seal the deal with a bad defense. No he punts the ball. No balls.

Game #3- 4th and 7 and he calls timeout to ?????..... yes punt . Who the fk calls a timeout to punt ? Go for it ! Show confidence in YOUR offense. No balls.

Game #4 The team was done. Those 2 losses were a killer. This is when the coach needs to be top notch motivator and when it was all said and done he actually admitted he is not a motivator of young men. It's time to move on. He has no balls.

Well put! To throw the players under the bus at this juncture was a self serving and a desperate ploy to deflect the responsibility away from the one who should man up to what has occurred under his stewardship. Sadly it has the ring of what we have heard for last eight years on a national level .. It's the fault of someone else, not the one in charge. There is an old academic related adage that speaks to the real problem/issue.
"If student didn't learn, the teacher didn't teach."

There was a lot of talk on Sirius college sports Channel and even coach Kellys biggest supporters were disappointed on the comments

He's been drilled all day long by radio hosts and multiple ESPN TV personalities....

Maybe someday someone can explain to me why some posters feel it necessary to inject their political beliefs into threads having nothing to do with politics.
