I don't know if I like that change. I think Mark Herman or Shaw from Stanford, there are other younger coaches that are making their mark as well. If you watched hard knocks, Bill O'Brien is one foul dude. Don't know if he would be a great match for N.D.
He's not leaving pro to come here. Truth be told not coming back to college. He used PSU as a stepping stone to a Head NFL job.
You know, I like O'brien. He came in at Penn st and did a heck of a job. Scholarships were cut, all that mess hanging over the program. Yet he did a dam good job with limited resources. But above all , his teams were very tough and played with passion. If they hired him, I'd be fine with that. He is a class act. I guess we will just see how this plays out.
As long as everyone is fantasizing, why not Bill Belichick? If you're going to have a dream about the next ND HC, dream big. It will help with the real world and the realization that BK is the HC and he will be next season also.
I really believe that a decent defense would have been required to win all these games the last few years. Not great, but decent. So, if, and it's a big if, the new DC can make this defense above average, that just may be what the doctor ordered.
That's Penn State and Bill is an NFL guy. He has a severely challenged young son. Being in Houston helps Bill and Colleen have top notch care for son Jack. It won't happen.
Notre Dame is not that great of a job. Sure the money is there but we can't the players like we use to. Get used to the occasional 10-12 wins. But National Titles are not happening. And it's time for our beat writers to grow a damn pair and ask serious questions, which we all know probably is not happening!!!
