Hounshell is likely going to be granted a 6th year by the NCAA because he fits the profile they have laid out, and I think BK will give him the same proposition he gave him last year, that is, I think he'll tell Hounshell that he won't make any promises but if Hounshell sticks around and the roster shapes up to allow room for him then he'll have a spot at ND in 2016. We were over the 85 man roster limit after NSD last year but, as usual, we were below the limit by the time the season started. I don't see why this year would be any different, which means with Hounshell included we'll actually have 4 TE's and I think that is enough.
To answer the original question, yes, Claypool looks like he has the frame to become a TE if that were to ever become the goal but it wouldn't happen in 1 year so I don't think he would provide much TE depth for 2016 anyway.
