as generally known, I was high on Kizer from his arrival, but he has been better earlier than I would have imagined.
He has poise, has more than enough athleticism, a terrific arm (especially deep) and is a tremedous leader!
and
The most important thing is, the team follows him; they just ride his confidence and demeanor. ND has not had a guy like that, on the ND sideline, in a long while! Not Even TE'O , who while leading with his play was not as infectuous.

Somehow Kizer seemed to be over-looked by most fans in the QB derby. No more. He is the MAN.
He can take this team to higher heights; and the players believe that.

Yea and just think back to the spring game. People assumed he couldn't play because of 10 snaps. It's a credit to the staff they found him, and to have got him in such a good spot so early as well. Kid is so talented.

Kizer is the difference last night. He just is determined, confident and has strong countenance.
EG's alter ego!

Think he did his job last night. But all said I wasn't overly impressed with him last night. He took sacks he didn't need to instead of just throwing the ball away. Pushing ND out of field goal range multiple times. And not going through his progressions when he had open receivers during the night.

Yes his scrambles kept a couple key drives going, and he made some great down field shots. And I think he has a great nose for the big play. But as a first year starter that had minimal snaps in spring. I think he is growing and still needs to keep growing. Hopefully we will see a complete game out of him for Temple. Because that game still scares me. Temple is better than most are giving them credit for this year.

irish agree with your assessments, but for a kid with only 4 starts ? how good is he really playing. he needs to keep improving, but he seems like the real deal.

first time bk has a qb with the complete skill set that can really lead nd. very fun to watch. i love his deep ball. teams cant load up the box with how well he throws the deep ball.

I'm still a believer this offense is more robust and deep with Malik, but Kizer is growing on me. His maturation will only make the position better in the future! I'm thinking they worked on his read option as he made a couple good plays on the keeper.

Perse---Props to you....you were in his corner from day one! I gotta admit those throws to Fuller & Corey were ON TARGET. And when he decided to run he usually did well. In any case the 2015 season DOES rest on his shoulders.

Glad we have all three QB's next year!!!

being a QB is not about just running fast or throwing a football! there is that intangible that is there, or not there.
Being a leader means that people will follow, Kizer is leading this team unlike anyone has during Kelly's tenure.
If the darned defense under BVG can get to a higher level this offense could be enough to carry them in any game.

Some absolutely amazing throws last night. If Golson had been as good as a Redshirt Freshman, the 2012 championship game would have been much closer.

I thought he ran particularly well last night. Earlier, he seemed tentative, sometimes almost coming to a complete stop.

Yeah, he sometimes stands in the pocket too long and sometimes locks in on one guy, but you have to love the job he's done with so little time to prepare in the spring.

Sometimes, on QB counter from the empty set (TE and guard pull), he's slow because he's allowing the blocks to happen so it times up. It looks odd, but its necessary. Otherwise, he may just be running into the pullers.

Its possible that's what you were seeing maybe.

Without Will Fuller + CJ Procise ND loses by 21 pts --
with malik, jones and folston irish win by 30......without Kessler usc looses by 31.....you could say that about any college team....take any teams best two players out....oh wait, we did already...
