Students To Walk Out During Commencement

This is not the 1960s. The Klan is a non factor. In fact, if anyone is going to call out the Klan, then they better do likewise with Black Lives Matter, The New Black Panther Party, Muslim Brotherhood, and MS-13. I also want to know where this ethnic racism is coming from. If you throw out accusations, then back it up with actual cases.

Of course the Democrats will take advantage of every opening they get from Trump. And he is giving them a tsunami of self inflicted wounds. They are like kids in a candy shop, overwhelmed with the choices of issues. But my point is Trump's true vulnerability is his own Republican party not the Democrats. The Republican leadership in Congress will not keep quiet for long if he keeps making the same dumb mistakes over and over. Trump should fear the possibility that the Republican leaders will assert their majority power to elevate Pence if they think Trump is vulnerable. Pence is more like them and more likely to stay on message. In parliamentary governments, it is called a vote of no confidence.
President Trump is doing just fine. ICE arrests are up considerably. Illegals crossing the borders are way down. Stock market is doing well and the liberals are flipping out. #maga

That is ridiculous. There are plenty of white power groups that threaten the United States as of today. The Turner Diaries is a 4-Chan best seller.

Those are fringe groups. There's always been fringe groups from all parts of the political spectrum.

If you mean white power groups, such as rich spoiled white kids destroying public property in one of their never ending temper tantrums, then I agree with you. If you mean rich white spoiled kids shutting down free speech on campus through the threat of violence, then I agree with you. If you mean white profs, teachers, and educators who condone the rich white kids behavior of violence, destructing, and intimidation, then I agree with you. If you mean rich white kids who walk around with pictures of revolutionary executioner Che Guevara because the beret looks cool, then I agree with you. If you mean a rich white celebrity calling for the White House to be destroyed, then I agree with you. You know, you are right. There are white power groups and individuals who are affecting the safety and laws of this country. I salute you for calling this out.

Disrespect like this under the rediculous guise of"Free Speech" used to really bother me. No more, let them make fools out of themselves. When/if it becomes an agressive disruption of others (including unlawfulness) they should be immediately removed and prosecuted. End of the day, I'd like to be around the first time they pull a stunt like this on their employer and they realize the finality of the last words they hear as an employee..."Don't let the door hit you in the *** on the way out!"

The only groups not listed are the Knights of Columbus and Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ. You want facts? Perhaps include some student organizations, educators, college profs and administrators. Just for giggles, spice the list up with Hollywood and the music industry. Now that's a list to be proud of.

Ivan, out of a population of 325 million, my guess is these radical fringe groups you list account for far less than 1%. Institutional racism is far more impactful and more difficult to remedy. Frankly, the well intentioned policies of liberals have done more harm to race relations than the collective impact of these silly groups.

You know this is totally inaccurate right? There is no way to track how many illegals come over the border, if there was we would be able to stop them. Also Trump's populist plan doesn't address illegals that come over and take advantage of the SS system. The dirty little secret here in the Houston area is how easy it is for an illegal to get a fake ss card. That card gives them access to get a driver's license and pretty much makes them a legal illegal worker. Now employers can say they completed an i9 and did their part prior to hiring them. Not only is this practice very widespread and unable to be tracked, but these individuals are actually propping up the SS system as the contribute but never have the ability to collect. So I'd really love for someone to explain how the administration is helping the problem? All he's doing is sending enough back to make people feel better, similar to taking your shoes off on a plane.

Get use to it .There are no Catholic Universities . Just look at what's happened at Georgetown ,DePaul , Marquette ? Can't have a conservative speaker ? Objects to traditional values . ND now caters to a small group of Snowflakes . Maybe ,I'll check out the Evangelicals . Is Liberty University trying to stay true to its' creed ?

if you do, you find a whole new world of worship. You are 'hands on' in your own relationship with the Lord.
I've taken the 'independent' approach and have enjoyed attending the various houses of worship from pentacostal to messianic Jewish. You can still attend your R.C. church. You will find it a rewarding journey.

And yet, conservative want to proclaim that Muslims the world over are prone to violence with no knowledge of the true distribution of the violent types. Trump is even lecturing Islamic governments and never cites any credible REAL evidence.

Yes, I would have and I would have disapproved of any Republican attempt of a coup to take him down less than 200 days into his term.
If Obama asked Muller to let Hilary go without an investigation, you wouldn't have done anything?

This misses the bigger picture. Yes, Illegal immigrants gain access to employment via someone else's Social Security Number, and employers often know this and essentially cheat the system as they pretend to comply with the I-9 requirements. They also gain eligibility for Unemployment Insurance Benefits which they do collect regularly. Their kids go to school; their spouse and kids and themselves go to County Hospitals and receive medical care; some portion end up in jail or correctional facilities; etc... Some greater portion contribute mightily to our agriculture and hospitality industries. That said, even the liberal hate Trump press report that the number trying to cross illegally has diminished greatly because of fear, and this is almost entirely attributable to Trump's rhetoric and simply enforcing the laws on the books. Clearly, all the positive and negative implications of illegal immigration are being significantly impacted by Trump's words and actions.
I frankly don't understand how anyone can be against stopping ILLEGAL immigration, and opposed to securing our borders against unlawful entry by anyone, most notably terrorist committed to our destruction. Hardly the stuff of taking your shoes off on a plane.

Not sure what tis has to do with my comment about Racism and the white supremacy groups Ivan listed, etc... BUT, your assertion that conservatives want to proclaim that Muslims the world over are prone to violence is simply a false narrative. Sure, extremist and white supremacy groups spout this kind of crap; but moderates, independents and conservatives alike generally support the view that nearly all terrorist attacks in the world today are done by radical Muslims, and the mainstream Muslims have not been sufficiently outspoken in denouncing these acts and the Clerics that teach radical doctrine. Not a Trump supporter, but I do support our President, and I think Trump is exactly on point to call for the Muslim world and Muslim governments to play an active role driving out these radical elements.

There was a noted preacher that tells the story of how he was tired of attendee's leaving services just a few minutes prior to the end in order that they 'beat the rush'. One week he got to just before the time when these earlybird exitees would get up and he announced, "at this time I would like all communists to please leave the services"; no one rose to leave. Pence should have begun his speech with such a statement.

JMO: the same 'walkers' would have left; having been properly addressed.

Nobody I know is calling for a coup. Why should they? Trump is his own worst enemy. He is self-destructing every time he opens his mouth or tweets. When the Republicans in Congress turn on Trump, Pence will be President. Maybe the ND Administration was prescient in inviting the VP to speak.

I will agree with you that if establishment Republicans turn on Trump the left will get what they might not want that is Pence.

The resist movement has been on-going for months and who it is hurting is we the people. Both the left and the right better remember who put them in office and why. Know I won't be voting for any candidate that persists in this crap if it's all proved to be nothing but a witch hunt.

My take on this from what I've read is that Trump values Loyalty above all else, and that he viewed Flynn as very loyal; and, that Trump felt he had to fire Flynn, but very reluctantly. His request of Comey was in the context of Flynn "being a good guy" and I think Trump was hoping to protect Flynn from any more legal or career damaging revelations. I also think his request is in the context of Trump believing strongly that there was no inappropriate coordination between his campaign and the Russian e-mail hacking, and so he doesn't view the investigation as anything more than a Democrat and liberal media driven effort to discredit him. Mueller will get to the bottom of all this, and then we'll know if Trump or any of his staff engaged in any illegal activity. The sooner the better.

It is a fact. Stop bloviating. Trump is empowering border patrol and police to do their jobs. So refreshing and effective.

I don't want tolerance. I find tolerance hilarious. It basically means you'll allow something you are vehemently against for the sake of keeping the peace. Tolerance is just asking for a build up towards a blowup.

What I want is for you to stop being butt hurt by everything and anything you don't agree with. Who cares if the media forces things down your throat? Are you such a small person that you can't simply ignore the facets of media that you disagree with and focus on those that you do?

There is a great stand up act that asks this question... What happens when you are offended? Nothing. You're just offended for a while, it subsides, and you go back to to your own life.

"Rabid Pro-Lifers"..-Ewing. Wow, what a hideous phrase. They shouldn't be so rabid in their efforts to protect life.

Your post suggested that <1% of the American population belonged to white supremacy groups. Likely true, but what efforts are being to be sure these people do not inflict violence?

Also likely true is that a relatively minuscule number of Muslims are violent. There are an estimated 1.8 billion Muslims globally. How many of these cause violence? A helluva lot less than 1%.

Yet, there are constant claims by Trump and his supporters to block Muslims because of concerns of violence. Yet, is it really true that an American has more to fear from foreign-born terrorists than domestic-born criminals and terrorists? I do not believe so, but I certainly do not expect Trump and Sessions to ease their xenophobia to promote appropriate actions.

You are a fool....The Klan and people who were just plain white racists were far more prevalent decades ago. Ask the widow of Jackie Robinson. The Klan and like idiots use to have parades all over the United States even in New York City thousands would march right down 5th avenue or Times Square.

You think a black man would have ever had any chance of getting elected president in this country 50-60 years ago?

The groups you cited pale in comparison to the millions of people in this country who decades ago were racists and were part of public policy that allowed discrimination.

The only group that can truly overcome the scourge of radical Islam is non-radical Islam. And they give you all sorts of reasons to question their commitment to doing so.

There is a difference. Average white Americabs abhor white supremacists, and will fight them, turn them in, or do whatever it takes to stop them. Would you say the same about Muslims around the world?

What do you mean will? He already has MAGA. The job numbers and GDP has gone way up since Trump started. Stock market at record highs and is ready to go SuperSonic once the tax cuts hit. The military is being rebuilt. We are now respected around the World. Illegal immigrant criminals are being kicked out in record numbers. Trump will go down as the Greatest jobs President ever. And one of the greatest at foreign policy. He is high energy and the sloth like congress and Senate need to try and keep up.

Those ND students disgust me.

What disgusts me more is that Notre Dame invited a pro-abortion President to speak at commencement. Think about that, they invited a scum bag to speak who stands in stark contrast to one of the tenets of Catholicism, the sanctity of life.

They dare not invite President Trump though, who is pro life because they feared more the secular public outcry from inviting Trump, more than they feared the outcry of their own flock of Catholics against abortion.

Total disgrace.
