Stop with the Academic excuses

I am seeing references in numerous threads citing that old excuse about ND academics making it difficult to compete against the Bamas and OSUs.

Let's stop that crap. That is a long used, old excuse. If Stanford and ND can make big 6 playoffs and a natty appearance in past 3 years then you can't whine about not getting some recruits

Is there an advantage for other schools? Sure. But the advantage us a bigger pool to choose from not a restriction to getting great players

We are who we are and have competed like Stabford at s high level
The inability to win it s is more due to the difficulty of the task, injuries, coaching, players not executing, and a poor D

It is not because we are smart but not athletic or not in a conference

Cream rises and we did not. Happens.

I am still waiting for that one game changer the last we had was Rocket. Many good players but no GC

And who is and who has the biggest GC in DIV 1?

He went to Stanford because both parents met at Stanford and were athletes at Stanford. McCaffrey grew up a Stanford fan. Hard to overcome that.

Kelly is 2-3 against Stanford. Stanford won this year's game as time expired. Kelly's teams have played Stanford even up.

Kelly is actually 2-4 vs Stanford despite having superior talent according to all recruiting services. Does Stanfird do a better job developing ther players? Absolutely. The fact is Stanfird is doing much more with less which includes BCS games , rose bowls, January bowls , pac 12 titles etc..

Virtually every post cash makes is a flame. Let's see here. Stanford is not winning at an alarming rate. Stanford has had a nice program the past 6-8 years. Nothing alarming about it. ND has played basically even with Stanford over that time frame.
I don't know that anything is holding ND's program back. ND won ten games this year notwithstanding a spate of critical injuries. ND lost to Clemson and "alarming" Stanford by two points each, both on the road. If that doesn't say that we can play with the big boys, I don't know what does.
I understand that ND has not fared well in the last two major bowl games we have played. It so happens that we were up against Saban and Meyer, guys I consider the best two game day coaches out there. There are a lot of coaches who don't fare well against Saban and Meyer. This hair pulling is an overreaction.

Stanford and Notre Dame are probably the two best overall athletic programs in America mixing academic success with athletic success. I am proud to play Stanford and cheer for them to do well.
