Happy to have consistency in the program, and a guy who seems to get how to maximize what Notre Dame has to offer. It also looks good for recruiting and staff consistency.
With that said, Brian Kelly has a lot of winning ahead of him to do if he's going to leave ND with a strong, positive, legacy intact. He's brought ND back to the point that they have a chance. For that he deserves a lot of credit... But Nick Saban, Bob Stoops or Urban Meyer he's not at this point.
Looking forward to what the future holds at ND... Fix that damn defense.

Coach Kelly is a handful of defensive lineman from a NC IMHO. I don't know what it will take to get us over that hump. A new DC, taking a chance on a few sub par academically eligible players (i.e. Tony Rice and Chris Zorich). Both whom would not have any chance of getting in today under the current standards. I think Kelly has to work under much stricter constraints with admissions and the du lac then his successful predecessors. I think that has also kept high profile coaches (i.e. Meyer and Saban) from taking a job at ND. It seems that ND has made it's choice to be academic national champions.Which is fine, but sadly I don't think you can be both.
The last time dumb and dumber, Kevin (the idiot) White, and the president Malloy were running the show. They gave a first time head coach that went 5-2 a 10 year no out, iron clad contract that cost ND tens of millions of dollars. But these are the same to morons that gave Davie a five year extension only to fire him eight months later, then gave us O'Leary, lost Meyer, then hired Willingham. Those two running the show were worse than ANY NCAA death sentence could have done.

Tremendously good news for anyone who is actually a Notre Dame fan. Kelly will be one day considered on the same tier of ND's most legendary coaches and he competes at the highest level wig real student athletes who are a credit on and off the field.
