Kelly. I would recommend a top flight S&C coach as one of the staff changes. Possibly an up and comer from say Clemson, Bama, Osu, Lsu, Oklahoma, Fsu. I know he's been with Longo forever but it's time to go. If he is to have success next year.
They say no need for wholesale changes. I disagree!
If they go get a solid DC and he brings in his staff? I'm sure Elston is retained. Id recommend he go back to D line. Bring in a good recruiting LB coach. Sure Lyght would be replaced, which is fine imo.
Bring in a new TE and ST coach. Seperate jobs btw.
If Kelly is serious about realistically keeping his job beyond 2017. He needs a new strength coach. DC. Depending on the hire/who they may keep DL LB and DB. Mix and match or change altogether.
On offense i would hand the keys to Sanford. Allow a new injection of ideas. I saw what he did at Boise! This offense looks NOTHING like he ran! Get a new energetic recruiting TE coach to maximize the talent in that room. Get a ST coach that souly runs that unit. Would'nt be surprised to see Quinn go to TE coach. Only because i think he has been waiting to find him a spot.
Look I'm not singing Kelly's praises i want him out as bad as any. I just don't see another way for him to find success with the staff in place jmo. On some of the changes i think would benefit us in 2017.
