Qb

I like Johnson. I do agree that I thought he was a great athlete as opposed to QB. His throws did not look very polished. If he did well at the 11 camp then I am sold. Avery would be a fine addition.

Manning would be interesting.. Someone that could come in and start next year would be amazing.

Quinn Ewers was just named the starter so maybe that's played into his decision as Ewers still has a lot of eligibility left..

If there was a recruit that is making a decision that has very little to do with NIL inducements to sign a LOI it would be Manning.

He would make 8 figures at ND if he became the starter.. Wouldn't even need the NFL.

Manning isn't coming here. He's staying at Texas

He's no lock to start here next year

Nobody is a lock to start here next year from the ‘23 class. The guy I like the best isn’t going to get on campus until 2024. CJ will push for PT as a true freshman. If Buchner goes down, CJ will play over Angeli. He’s that good.

Kizer was really good in 15. Then in 16 we lost 8 games

Books best season was 18. After that he was good. But not great

Is that really our best?
Kizer played good...remember he had bvgs thirty points a game to make up for.

Angeli is going to be third string his whole career. That doesn't make CJ ready to play as a freshman.

He signed a lot of good ones here too. Unfortunately none of them really worked out
If that is your opinion, then email the LSU AD and tell him the 95 million guaranteed could have been better spent.

He already knows. He tried getting Lincoln and Jimbo first. And he paid him less than MSU paid Mel Tucker. Believe me, they know

Your silence is deafening.

Everyone knows you are just the troll that finds one little bitch point and harp on it over and over. When you are wrong you just move to the next thing.

It's a joke.

You will be whining by halftime how drew Pyne should be playing. So let's get it out of the way now. He shouldn't play all year. Period.

If TB beats Ohio state I’ll delete my account. Avery Johnson will be starting QB next fall.

Johnson's accuracy is over-rated, imo. I watched him throw specifically because he's dual threat, to see just how much "dual" is there. He tends to underthrow short and intermediate passes...Accuracy isn't spectacular either. ND's receivers aren't a wealth of ball catchers...they are good, and thats about it. But they won't make Johnson a better passer...which is what great receivers can do (i.e. make the catches that aren't on the money). Minchey has a much better arm...one the "good" ND receivers can maximize.

Is that ‘in person’ or do you have a video that shows that that you can add a link to? The one i posted above he appears pretty accurate and most every ball is perfectly placed only for the receiver. His running looks great too. I only watched one video and know those are only the positive plays, but would love to see anything that proves other in his ‘junior’ year

Thats all of the videos online I could find....both HS games and camps. Obviously, all we see is what is available and posted. However, that applies to all of these kids. I readily confess to being an amateur talent evaluator....but Minchey seems to have really good arm strength, accuracy and range.

Okay so ND CAN Beat Ohio and Du Lac will delete their account. Nice!

One thing about Avery Johnson that's a little endearing, he looks like a regular HS kid. The large majority of serious D-1 CFB prospects, even though they haven't entered their senior of HS, all manage to look and seem substantially older. But this dude straight up looks like a random 16-year old kid

Same here. I think most here are amateur as well, hence varying opinions, which is great for conversation. I like minchey alot as well - he has a strong arm too. But after watching avery’s, i thought he looked great (and just as good - if not better), but maybe i need to find more clips than just the one. Though, I do remember watching clausens film when he was a recruit and it didnt take much to determine he was elite.

Avery Johnson's game is totally reminiscent of Buchner. Terrific athlete and runner, and with a super live arm. And just a nice fluidity about the way he plays. But Buchner was pretty much born to attend ND, while Avery Johnson really should stick with K-State. I lived in Kansas for a while, and this kid will be very happy at K-State, and he should just go ahead and stick with his choice. K-State is respectable, and they have that good coach. He won't regret it...

While Kenny Minchey seems perfect for ND! Just seeing a couple of his interviews. He seems like textbook ND material, in addition to being the best QB we could go after. So please let this rumor be about Minchey, and not anyone else....

how many actual snaps from center has TB taken in actual games since 2019?

Manning has the potential to be the most overrated recruit in history.
I’m comfortable going with the crowd based on his pedigree. He is like his uncles, he stays under the radar and just works his ass off from everything I’ve seen.

He’s a manning. He will likely end up the best of all of them when he gets to the NFL. I’d put my money on Arch Manning over anyone else by a mile. 4 years from now I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dante Moore’s were huge busts. Arch I’d be shocked. He has all the right supports to slowly become an NFL starter. He’s in it for the right reasons. He’s confident and has the best structural supports and motivators one could imagine. He could become his uncles without a doubt.

Better than Peyton lol yeah okay

I think the majority will disagree with me.....but my eyeball test tells me that Minchey is actually better than Moore. His arm is roughly equal...and he is more mobile. I think Moore will need an exceptional O line to keep him on the field....He's not the statue that Coan is...but he's the Tin Man without oil...I was thinking this way when he was #1 and "leaning ND".;. I would take Minchey if he is gettable...

Uhhh. I'd he wasn't a Manning he wouldn't have been a top 5 QB in this class. He's good, but the hype train is too high on him.

Avery Johnson is very raw in his passing. Tyler Buchner has been groomed at QB for years and his IQ and anticipation is elite. Nothing about them is the same other than they can both run and extend plays.

What?? So you're disagreeing with me? You gotta be the guy on this board who's the most full of himself and even a bit narcissistic when it comes to more advanced football knowledge/savvy, which is implied that you posses. Which I'm guessing in actual substance is about zero, as a practical matter. With the occasional semi-comprehensible word salad, when you're laboring to insist on some sort of tactical dynamic that ND's fate is going to be bound up in.

In any case, I like Tyler Buchner a lot, he's obviously a bright kid, the kind who'd probably be fine at ND even if he wasn't a football player. You certainly couldn't find someone who fits the ND profile any better. He seems like a very confident athlete, and I for one feel like I would have no special reason to suspect that he's might struggle as a passer as a full-time starter, which was something of the obsession du jour over the summer amongst the sweaty masses. And so I doubted myself a little. Now that the season's actually upon us, it's time to circle the wagons, and now no one's talking about TB sucking anymore.

The main takeaway is that your typical ND fan really doesn't know anything about anything. There'd be no reason to be impressed or intimidated or intrigued by anything they have to say, especially when it comes to the football team. Other than the most mainstream layman's conventional wisdom that's available to anyone. Sometimes the fans want to indulge in a particular opinion about whatever it is. And then later they'll contradict themselves for no other reason than the date on the calendar.

Anyway, I still think Avery Johnson ought to just stick with K-State. But if he does flip to ND that would be cool too. But I totally prefer Minchey....
