God I hope not. Angeli is not ready to start a game for ND. I felt way better with Buchner as our backup.

Pyne looked like a Pop Warner QB the first time he took the field. But what was he as a starter -- 8-2 or something?
Montana was 7th on the depth chart at one point, and Huarte barely took a snap before his senior year. Sometimes, getting on the field is HARDER than STAYING there.
I have no idea if Angeli has it or not, but until we actually see him perform in a game, we don't really know.
If Buchner goes ahead and leaves, there should be a good battle for the backup spot between Angeli and Minchey. I think both of them are actually better pure passers than Buchner. They're both young, obviously, though. Minchey probably has a little bit stronger arm of the two of them, from what I could tell. Although Angeli's further along and played better in the B/G game.
