Please---No Excuses!

Another insulting post with no basis to back it up. Besides Bush accepting money, what else did USC do wrong? What does Bush have to do with my argument that Hville is wrong when he sarcastically stated that hiring a new coach would result in a NC (as if it could not happen). It happened when USC hired Carroll and they were considered irrelevant at the time after 10 years of mediocrity. Grow up.

You would do well to.familiarize yourself with the NCAA COI, PIR. southern cal was filthy from the top down.... bush and mayo were the tip of the iceberg...
You do realize that carroll had a major violation for having an extra coach right? There's tons more...
They're lucky to still be playing and the NCAA report makes that clear.....

Thank you for bringing FACTS into the discussion but I doubt he'll accept them as being accurate. It ruins his argument.

OK. I only base my argument on the 30 for 30 episode. If there is more to it than that, then no I would not want to win championships that way. The show only mentioned Bush. If it is much worse, I stand corrected. I don't spend much time trying to find bad things out about other schools so I can justify going 8-5 every year and feel good about it (and I am not referring to you).

And that's why I was saying it wasn't okay. Your other post made it sound like you would be willing to do the same in order to win.

Nope you said it, we heard it. You would be ok if BK sacrificed a co'ed a week before each game if that meant ND was going to when a championship. Pazuzu hates Co'eds, especially hot ones.

No worries. Take a look at this link and read the full report. I think you may download it. It's a solid read. As you are reading it remember that they did not get caught for everything..... Let's just say 25 penalties were imposed some had subsections.... Not covered was the rampant drug and steroid use. Nor was the ongoing history of arrests, violence...."we own the cops..." rey rey.... I

"Finally, as stated in the introduction of this report, USC is a “repeat violator” under the provisions of Bylaw 19.5.2.3 and was at risk for enhanced penalties set forth in Bylaw 19.5.2.3.2. Although the committee chose not to impose any of these enhanced penalties, stiff sanctions are warranted in light of the serious violations found by the committee and the fact the institution is a “repeat violator.”"

Than I should feel right at home with the ND coeds.

Well, as the 30 for 30 (Trojan War) show participants pointed out, they would never have traded that experience even if they new that Bush would have been caught taking money. I would take 10 years of dominance for a couple of years of sanctions. Yes, Texas did beat them but USC should have won which would have made it a 3-peat. When Carroll took over they were 16-2 against ND and UCLA over his tenure their and it only took 2 1/2 years to do it. We are in year 6 and we got the same old same old.

This view is one aspect that separates fans of the school from fans of only the football team, especially the fans that stroke their own ego with the accomplishments of a team with which they are not directly associated.

It's pretty amazing what ND is doing on offense with a 3rd string QB and RB.. both who had never started a game in college at these respective positions before the 2015 season.

A lot of that goes to the unsung hero's of the o-line and the coaching of.

KI35, Bob Golic and Steve Heinkreiter (sp.) in mid 70's were incredible together, and I think they were in the same recruit class. Time in place equals apples and oranges. Don't know how either would match up against last year's haul for example, as the athletes are so much bigger and stronger and faster today.

Golic was class of '78, I think Kritter was '79. But don't hold me to that.

Wow. Just wow. I don't know how to respond to anything like that.

So, you would be fine with cheating as long as your team wins. I can't believe any ND fan would feel that way. More like a fan of some SEC team.

That statement alone tells me everything about you. No character; no integrity.

I'd like to just throw this out there... was it really cheating? Everyone knows that at 99% of the schools CFB players get benefits that are against NCAA "rules". If the NCAA refuses to enforce their rules, is it really a rule?

I like to equate it to this; At every trace event the starter begins, "on your mark, set.." then every runner except you takes off, you follow the rules and wait for the gun. The other runners are not called back for a false start. This keeps happening at event after event you have 2 options, continue to lose or start a what is clearly now the new "go".

It's certainly is not morally wrong to give money to somebody? I'd like somebody to show me anything in Christ's teachings that say you can't give away your material possessions to whomever you choose.

So if in every single situation the NCAA has failed to enforce any of it's rules, is it really a rule?

I can't cite the exact biblical passge off hand but there is a teaching that you bear some responsibilty as to where you $ or charity goes. But that is biblical and certainly not something the NCAA or ESPN worries about.
(edit: On search, I was unable to find anything re accountability for ultimate usage of charity; maybe someone else has an idea?)

And the Bush thing is problably a minor thing compared to todays goings on.

You raise Christ's teachings; do you also assert that it is okay to ignore His teachings because you have no evidence that unrepentant sinners are punished?

You need to study the New Testament. You don't know what you are talking about. And while you're at it, get a Concordian so you can translate the Bible correctly.

As far as I know it's no sin to pay a kid money to play a game.. and thats my point. People act as if it is morally wrong to give a kid money to go play football at a particular school and I say there is nothing morally wrong with it.

Players are the reason we win Kelly is the reason we lose - so goeth with the naysayers

unfortunate internet geeks who have found there way on to a football message board

^ good grief .... Continuously, creating bogus ID's; and shame on K. for not stiffling you!
You bring shame to him!

so in your mind all the dropped passes and turnovers barely contributed to the loss to Clemson. it was all on Kelly.

The fundamental element imo on this issue is spectators who have never played sports at a competitive level like cvgr or persevereea think that the outcomes in a loss are always on the coach especially if they don't like the coach .

I have heard several people complain about the preparation of the team leading up to the Alabama game . That is a classic scenario of blaming the coach in a situation where ND was simply out manned .

I met with a former Offensive Lineman who played for Ara who was at the Alabama game . He informed me at the Miami airport that the ND OL was simply out manned and there was nothing they could do to move Bama off the ball -- a pure cut and dry mismatch that would see Riddick and Gray not gain 50 yds between them .

Again classic example of someone who played the game at a high level seeing the game through a players eyes vs a nerd internet geek who thinks football is some half assed chest match between football coaches and not factoring in the most essential element of any sporting event - the talent of the players and their performance in the game .

Unfortunates like persevrauee cvgr turn machine think they can relate to high level athletic competition through a computer keyboard -- obvious by there infantile futile attempts at football commentary we all know they can't .

The fact is that I stated everyone from the top down was to blame for the Clemson loss. Feel free to refute that rather than making up gibberish.

Also, kelly's PC confirmed that thought... So, why don't you contact coach kelly and tell him he has no need to share the blame....?

"football is some half assed chest match"

Your level of cowardice is on par with argus. "Yay, kelly35 has a new handle."

The dead giveaway is your lack of literacy .....

PS Last night I was with 2 fathers that have sons in the NFL. Neither had kind words about kelly's coaching approach and how he handles the team.... It's that obvious.... Hopefully, he can dial up a great one today.... we're due....
