Our defense is

Who on ND's roster do you think starts at Bama this year, on the defensive side of the ball?

Tough question because when talk about hypothetical situations we must also account for the fact that these guys would have had Nick Saban teaching them at Alabama rather than Brian Vangorder and they wouldn't have been cheated for 3 years by the strength and conditioning program. Also, keep in mind that Bama plays a 3-4 defense, so the personnel in the front 7 doesn't matchup. That said...

I think Jerry Tillery, as a junior, in Alabama's strength program for 3 years and under Nick Saban's tutelage, would be a starter at SDE in Alabama's 3-4 base scheme.

I think Nyles Morgan, under the same premise, would start at one of their two ILB spots.

I think Jay Hayes would be a rotational defensive end in their 3 down front.

I think Daelin Hayes would be in the 2-deep at their standup outside linebacker / DE position.

Was ND's S&C program that Bad for the last 3 years?

DO you think Balis's program will be comparable? And who do you predict the next commit to be ?

I sure hope so. I think Balis is certainly going to get them closer and I've loved everything that I've read about Balou and the bar speed metrics that he brings to the table. I'm in a wait and see mode but I'm optimistic.

Next commit (for the 2018 cycle I take it)?

I'm going to go with CB Tariq Bracy when he visits for the USC game... Thomas Booker could also pop anytime for either ND or Stanford.

Do they get the privledge of being coached by Bama too? If that's the case Tranquil and Studstill and Daelin Hayes too.

Agree on above. Maybe Tillery, Love also. Hard to say Morgan would not play. Hayes lots of PT.

Now that Elko is here. Look at our incoming class and you will see lots of folks that would play at any school next year as well.

Not like ND has no talent. We are always highly ranked in recruiting and put a ton of players in the pro's.

Maybe a better question is who on Alabama could play at ND with the athletics and the academic course load.

Great question above.

Neither Kelly or Kirby Smart are elite coaches. ND and Georgia will not be in the playoffs this year. The top coaches are Meyer Saban Harbaugh Swinney Chris Peterson and James Franklin from PSU. Another school might emerge but not ND or Georgia.

Harbaugh ? Based on what ?

You may be correct, but the best teams are not always the teams that are in the playoffs. Things set up very well for ND. Stanford and SC were both thought to be the roadblocks but both have major problems.
Stanford is inexperienced and lacks an established QB.
SC has too many problems, ranging from coaching, depth and experience. A loss to either would be a bit surprising.

Based upon style, Navy looks to be the real hurdle.

That's a really good way of putting it. Some around here act like all Bama players are dumb and have bad records but that's just not true. However how many on defense could actually get in....great question.

Just remember a flipside to that coin.

If tro Jan, and tree are really not as good as thought then their record more than likely will indicate they were NOT big wins for us.

We need to win out and hope that Miami only loses to us. At some point they'll meet Clemson I'm not certain this will happen.

Just win out and hope for the best. Win convincingly if possible and then maybe.

Win out? Carolina, USC, NCST, WF, Miami, Navy, Stanford. Very difficult second half of the season with Miami the toughest.

Someone get 1st half stats from our games. These games are essentially over by halftime, so half the game stats are skewed because of the style of play due to big second half leads.
