Not that the defense played terrible but I expect more from the front 7 against the rush. Since our secondary has problems we need these guys to stuff the run and it isn't happening. Against a solid team like Stanford we just can't give up big runs because we already know they are going to call a lot of play action and burn our safeties, it happens every game. The Pitt offense did have some good blockers but just too many big plays on the ground.
Offense looked solid and I really like the way Kizer played. It wasn't about his numbers but more about his consistency that is nice. He had some mistakes but not as many and Pitt's defense was pretty solid up front. At the same time having a guy like Fuller is amazing, he really changes everything and it is great to see. Also Adams is going to be a stud! I love CJ but the big difference is the North/South running from Josh and the initial burst of speed. I wouldn't change CJ front starting but I would like to see both playing at the same time and get Josh more carries to relieve CJ.
Good win and let's keep that positive vibe going. Stop worrying about the playoff committee as well, it will all work itself out and our Irish can only control the games coming up.
