Football Observations from ND's first spring practice

We just walked out of our first viewing session of Notre Dame's first spring football practice in the Irish Athletics Center. We were allowed to watch the first five periods after practice, which included some special teams drills and individual position drills.

@Eric Hansen and I will share our observations in this thread with a few posts.

First, some position alignments of note:

Chris Tyree worked exclusively with the wide receivers while we were watching practice.

As the offensive line worked on half-line blocking drills, Michael Carmody lined up at left guard next to Joe Alt and Andrew Kristofic lined up at right guard next to Blake Fisher. Billy Schrauth worked at No. 2 LG. Rocco Spindler worked at No. 2 RG.

Thomas Harper worked with the safeties during position drills. I didn't notice any corners moved over to safety yet. Guys like Clarence Lewis and Ryan Barnes still worked with the cornerbacks.

Alexander Ehrensberger was working with the defensive tackles in drill work.

We have a lot of number changes that I'll detail later in this thread.
