Notre Dame @ Stanford 1pm PT Official Game Discussion Thread

Stanford 2019 F/+ RK 84th.

Stanford 2019 FEI Rankings:
Defense 94th
Offense 90th

This should be a 3 TD romp at the very least. This Stanford team is just ahead of bowling green and new mexico in terms of team quality this season as the third worst team on the schedule in 2019.
While I agree with you. It’s raining and we know how BK teams play on the road as it is but factor bad weather and the road???

So you'd send 5 and 6 against 7 man protections and leave your secondary in cover 1 and cover 0 in the rain?... sounds like a slip away from an easy 6 points.

JMO.
Yes. You either get a stop or Stanford scores in 30 seconds instead of 8 minutes.

TJ is a bruiser. Someone next year with 4.3 speed is off to the races. Will be a diff team with some speed inbound

Once again an unprepared team who looks like they’d rather be somewhere else. If they end up losing they should decline a bowl game. Stanford sucks but as the script goes under Kelly, they look like a New Years 6 team.

Stanford has moved the ball better than ND - so far they've had an easy 10 points!

I just don’t understand it. Why don’t they want to have fun!? The game is fun. Go win your 10th game. Where’s the energy!?

I think you're going to see Lea play the percentages, stick to the game plan and not panic. The idea being that Mills is not going to play at the level for 4 quarters and eventually he'll make mistakes. College teams just don't match 15 plays a time, drive after drive.

so let’s make a game out of it against a 4 win team with FR OLman. Brilliant

Lucky break there. Take it and roll. Like OSU and Mich. a few breaks can change a game

Here’s a novel idea. Tell your 320 pound line to knock the crap out of the guy in front and hand the ball off. Keep doing it and maybe someone will be open down field.

- Road
- Rain
- Palo Alto
- Senior Day

Yes it is going to be a tough game for Notre Dame. They'll have to gut check this one. They're far more talented than Stanford, but we all know what happens in college football.

wait, what if our offense falters as they’ve been known to do?

I hate that game plan. Put some pressure on them and force mistakes. Where are the blitz packages? Who gives a rip if you give up a big play. Those long time consuming drives play into their hands.

Stanford doesn't have much big play potential on offense. ND is capable of going 30 yards on most plays. Still way early.
