NFL draft 1st Round

Agree. He's got a well-oiled machine at Bama. Has great assistant coaches, too. Most people think of Saban as a defensive-minded guy, but in the last 2 NFL drafts Bama had 4 WRs go in the first round. That is a lot of talent for a QB to throw to.
Plus he has 2 first round QBs.

Through 42 picks, Bama has accounted for 21%!! of the draft. Not effing fair, lol

If you look at the numbers, Bama and OSU both had 10 players drafted this year. Georgia and ND each had 9. So ND is signing and developing players to get into the NFL. The difference, it seems, is in the quality of those players. Bama had 6 players picked in the first round, all in the first 24 picks of the draft. So Bama is getting elite players coming out of HS, and then sending them to the NFL. Aside from the numbers supporting that, just watching the games tells pretty much the same story. We all can see that. Unless ND can start landing a few really elite players every year, hard to see us getting to the level where we can play with Bama. Maybe we can get good enough to scare them now and then, but beating them consistently--or even just giving them a game--will take getting better recruits through the door. I don't think we necessarily need to get 4 or 5 5-star guys every year, but getting a couple of them, especially at the key positions, will go a long way toward reducing the disparity between the CFB elites and where ND currently stands.
