Never underestimate your opponent

I expect them to be pretty good. They're very talented, and Elko's a very good coach. ESPN's FPI has them around #14. That could be our toughest game.
I agree. We know what Elko is about. We know they've got big time talent. We know College Station will be rocking with 100K+ in the crowd. Elko will have everyone "believing".

That game is gonna be a dog fight. Can't wait.

Anyone going?

Purdue plays three of the top five.
The team I feel sorry for is Florida. I never thought I would say/type that! Based on this list, their schedule includes:

vs #1
@ #3
vs #6
@ #11
vs #14
@ #15
vs #24

They also play unranked Texas A&M. If they haven't gotten themselves together, which I don't think they have, then this will be a VERY long season for them.

And then you play an SEC title game if you get there.

TAM is Florida’s 8th toughest game if you believe the rankings.

Purdue isn't far behind that. They play #2, #4, #5, #12, Top 25 near miss Wisconsin and ND's 2023 bowl opponent, Oregon State.

The top 4 is completely irrelevant to the playoffs since those slots will be occupied by the P4 conference champions.

The SEC and Big Ten champs are highly likely to be top 4 teams. That may not be the case for the ACC or Big 12 champs, though. The Big 12 looks like it could have a lot of parity. I could see a 3-loss team coming out of there, that isn't even ranked in the top 12.

You do realize the agreement is, the top 4 slots are given to each of the p4 conference champions. This means B10, SEC, ACC, and B12 conference champions each get one of the top 4 slots. If a B12 conference champion has 5 losses they will get 1 of the 4 slots. ND could be 12-0 and ranked number 1, but they'll be at best a 5 seed as it relates to the playoffs.

Yes, I do realize that - that's why I said there could be a 3-loss Big 12 team getting in as conference champion, that wasn't ranked in the top 12 in the rankings.
