We plan to do individual threads for every Notre Dame men's lacrosse game this season, but let's use this thread anything related to the buildup for the 2025 season for the two-time defending national champions.
Notre Dame will get its season started Feb. 12 against Cleveland State and will play its first ACC game on March 29 against Duke.
Notre Dame is ranked No. 1 in the preseason KANE Men's Division I Media Poll. The four other ACC teams also made the top 20: No. 2 Syracuse, No. 6 Virginia, No. 7 Duke, No. 16 North Carolina.
Inside Lacrosse announced today its 2025 Nike Lacrosse Preseason Men’s DI Media All-Americans. Four Notre Dame players were named to the first team: senior Chris Kavanagh on attack, senior Ben Ramsey at short stick defensive midfielder, junior Will Donovan at long stick midfielder and sophomore Shawn Lyght on defense. One was named to the second team: senior Will Lynch at faceoffs. Two were named to the third third: graduate senior Jake Taylor on attack and sophomore Jordan Faison at midfield. Two more received honorable mention: graduate senior midfielder Devon McClane and graduate senior long stick midfielder Greg Campisi.
Notre Dame was also named the preseason favorite in the ACC in a vote of the conference's five head coaches. Five Notre Dame players were named to the Preseason All-ACC Team: Kavanagh on attack, Lyght on defense, Ramsey at SSDM, junior Will Donovan at LSM and senior Will Lynch at faceoffs.
