Michigan V Utah

That's fair. Unless you're up against a totally mismatched opponent, it's hard to look great. G-Tech is up by a million but they're playing Alcorn St.........

Utah Could do great thing in the PAC 12.

Michigan has a load of growing pain , but coach Harbaugh I believe will get thing worked out by season's end

10 -3 Utah at the half is not bad for Michigan. but the second half will separate Utah from Michigan if they are as touted as I've heard all off season.

but, you can see the Harbaugh coaching; UM looked physical and better fundamentally.
Harbaugh has no QB. He needs a game tactician to play his physical field possession
wear you down kind of game.
He will have the team ready by seasons end - just setup for that QB whoever he is.

I was on vacation in my hometown in Michigan two weeks ago. I had to endure the most ridiculous predictions by friends/relatives of "We're going to shock the world" BS. They said UM was going to the playoffs THIS YEAR. I told them I see Michigan going 8-4 this year and they laughed in my face.

In my opinion they have five more tests. Those are BYU, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn St. and Ohio St.

While I agree that they'll be better off with Harbaugh, it will take three years to do it. He had the luxury of having Andrew Luck at Stanford, but there aren't too many of those types of QBs out there, and certainly not on their current roster.

Harbaugh's history shows he will get them turned around. To take Stanford from 1-11 to a Rose Bowl in the amount of time he did, was amazing. He is a dick, but whatever he does, it works.

Harbaugh is a coaching sugar high, he knows what he is doing but it is impossible to stand his obnoxious paranoid, narcissistic personality for more than 5 years. Have you ever heard of an NFL Coach who took a team to 3 straight Conference Title Games and 1 Super Bowl and almost got traded for draft picks? It's only a matter of time before his act runs thin at Meatchicken. I say by 2019 a new coach will be walking the sidelines at Meatchicken.

I agree. I find him and his brother insufferable. At least his brother has won a Super Bowl. He may have a short shelf life wherever he coaches.

It is true that Harbaugh clashed with San Francisco management. But in his final game with the 49's the players awarded him the game ball. He doesn't have problems with his players. Also, he left Stanford after three years for a MAJOR promotion. I can't think of any other college head coach with such a short tenure at a major school who received an NFL offer. To sum up, the "Harbaugh wears out his welcome quickly" meme is goofy wishful thinking.

Harbaugh's personality and motivational techniques work great at the college level, and he'll have Michigan playing for the Conf championship within three years, and in the national conversation. As Kelly noted a month or so ago when discussing college versus the NFL, the HC in college football has near total control over the make up of the team, etc... Harbaugh sided with players over management on contract matters and wanted more control over trades and draft decisions, and this is what led to his "firing". He will succeed at Michigan and stay as long as he wants, but suspect the drive to win a Super Bowl will cause him to return to the NFL in five years or so.

Possible that he may want to return to the NFL, but I think that is mostly the opinion of ESPN's NFL talking heads. They were also united that Harbaugh would NEVER leave the NFL and take a "step back" to college ball. It like thinking a doctor who works in NYC would never leave to be a general practitioner in some charming small town. Ann Arbor is a beautiful place to raise a family. There is more to life than working 80 hour weeks as an NFL head coach.

We will see how goofy it is when his bags are packed and he heads back to the NFL. In today's world of PC the days of a Bobby Knight like character running around bullying and intimidating his superiors and underlings are long over. Guys like Harbaugh are megalomaniacs and this excuse that the "players support him" or he "wins games" so let's tolerate his BS does not hold water anymore.

Rumor has it his act at Stanford was wearing thin, we have empirical evidence his act at SF wore out because they tried to trade him and then fired him. Just look at his recent interview with Cowherd...he a world class D Bag in a world where world class D Bags don't get free passes anymore because they win games.

lol: "Rumor has it"...

Yes, Harbaugh can be an a-hole. Same goes for Brian Kelly, Lou Holtz, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer & Parcels. I personally hate a couple of those guys, but I still understand that they are great coaches. You are projecting your personal feelings to all those who work with Harbaugh.

There were reports that many of his players in San Francisco grew tired of his act. He is a very good football coach but a big time dink. We will see how long he lasts in Ann Arbor.

He is a good coach but lets see what he does at the college level without an Andrew Luck

Your Stanford rumor is wrong....

Harbaugh does not suffer fools lightly. His problem is that he vocalizes his sentiments and has little to no filter (paging Donald Trump). He also has little to no desire to press the flesh and do the HC PR stuff. He does that sh** reluctantly and feels it takes time away from improving the team. I've posted this before, if the um hierarchy stays out of his way things will be fine. If an ego gets in Harbaugh's way there will be fireworks...

PS When lions coach schwartz chased after him after an NFL game no one knew what had happened. Harbaugh had called him "schwanz" as he departed. That goes back to an earlier NFL time when schwartz was a coach and Harbaugh was a player for the Ravens.... They had clashed then....

Harbaugh is a great coach and I believe, based on an ESPN report, that he is the only coach in history to win Coach of the Year at the NFL and college level.....

Shouldn't it be that Harbaugh needs to adhere to what his superiors want rather than the hierarchy stay out of his way?

When he wins a title we can crown him but let's see what he does at Michigan. I think he is a very good football coach but too many have his bust ready for the Hall of Fame.

He has won conference titles in college and the NFL. Most coaches (including Saban) cannot say the same.

There is a lot more fanboy b.s. on this site to have angst over than anyone praising Harbaugh or accurately stating the fact that Harbaugh is one of the top coaches in the game. I watched the full game last night and he is going to have some growing pains..... Had Ruddock performed somewhere above piss poor they may have stolen one. Right now they look hamstrung at QB. However, he stuck to a solid game plan that gave them shots to pull off an upset.
PS#13 on Utah is the dumbest captain of a team I have ever seen...

I don't need to wave anything. His accomplishments and success as a player and coach at each level speaks volumes about him. He is a rare breed.....

It is fine to not care for him or like him, but for folks to knock his football abilities is very weak sauce....

You know weak sauce. Crown him if you would like.
Isn't it time for you tell us that your roommate is on the BOT?

Former room mate....

Plus, I know guys that played for Harbaugh at both Stanford and the 49ers....

I also know folks that play/played for his brother.

Keep spinning your wheels though.

If kelly could trade his career for Harbaugh's he would....

How much money have each made in their coaching careers...?

That should tell you something...

I really couldn't care who you would or wouldn't crown.

However, I do know folks that take shots at Jim Harbaugh 9 times out of ten don't even know he was a first round pick among other things....

Harbaugh's resume dwarfs the kelly's....

We'd be lucky to get someone as good....
