Let's remember, Utah is probably the seventh best team in the PAC12, the second best conference in my opinion. Michigan is a very long way from being relevant, even in their own conference.
As for Harbaugh vs Kelly and only looking at their college experience (the experience they have in common)...
Kelly has had an undefeated regular season and played in a national championship game. Kelly won two NCs at Grand Valley State and 118 games. In three years, Kelly turned Central Michigan into a MAC Champion. He was equally impressive at Cincinnati with a 12-0 regular season record in his last year there.
At ND he is 45-20, had one undefeated regular season and has won 3 of 5 bowl games. His highest ranking at the end of the year was 3 or 4, depending on which poll you look at.
Harbaugh won a league title at San Diego St. going 11-1 twice. In four years at Stanford he was 29-21, with a 12-1 mark his last year. He was 1-1 in bowl games at Stanford. His highest ranking at the end of the year was 4th.
Make your own determination. I would take Kelly.
Yeah, let’s ignore that as a player Harbaugh was a Heisman finalist 3rd, won the Fiesta Bowl # 2 in polls, led the nation in passing efficiency, held the NCAA career efficiency record for 12 years, was a first round NFL pick and spent 14 years in the league, was voted to the Pro Bowl, was NFL comeback player of the year, was AFC player of the year, runner up in NFL MVP voting, he is in the Colts “ring of honor”….
He’s the only coach in football history to be College coach of the year and NFL Coach of the Year…. He has won a BCS game…. He was 6 yards from a Super Bowl win...
That's a snapshot and it's totally relevant.
Your undefeated bs is a yarn. Kelly has never been undefeated for a season in D 1. He was undefeated once in 2002 at Grand Valley whoopdy doo... beating the likes of Northwood, Mercyhurst, Findlay, CW Post, Valdosta state, Hillsdale, Indiana PA, others quite frankly isn't that impressive in the football world….
Also, you fail to mention kelly’s disgraceful departure where he had a chance to be undefeated and chose to ditch his team, lied to them and left them in tears…..
That was a stunt I doubt any coach could top…. although he did try with the eagles...
PS Lastly, Grand Valley? thanks for the chuckle....and I'll bet a million dollars you never saw one game.....
Have fun today, we better paste the horns...
