He's been my number 1 QB transfer want since Leary isn't a guarantee health wise. Hartman is right there as well if he enters. I like both over Card. I think Card is a gamer, but I like hartmans and Pratt's arm talent better plus their experience.

Frankly, I think any one of these four would be a good get for us. I really prefer a one year transfer, as I think we’re developing a good QB room with Buchner and Angeli and Minchey and Carr.

than Card, 100%, i like pratts more than hartman.... I don't think card has a good arm, book and pyne like

I would say hartman is comparable to buchner arm strength but much more accurate

I believe pratt has 2 years remaining if he wants due to covid year but I think he would go pro after 1 year with ND if he had a big season

Who has a better chance to win the OSU game: Pratt, Hartman, Card, or Buchner?
To me Pratt, he can make all the throws and is maybe between pyne and buchner athleticism wise

plus great experience and he's played in some big atmospheres despite being at tulane (Played at oklahoma and did really well)

Book had a solid arm. Not great. But didnt let it loose. Books arm is stronger than Hartmans

You are overrating Hartmans arm talent

SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS

  • Good (not elite) arm strength and can easily make all the NFL throws with effortless deep passes.
  • Possesses a strong right arm and is capable of making every NFL throw easily. Can drive the deep out to the sideline from the opposite hash and has no problem threading the needle between closing defenders. Easily zips to all areas of the field, demonstrating very good touch on underneath routes to running backs and receivers, as well as down the sideline on deep passes.
  • Sprays the ball anywhere on the field, especially when given a pocket from which to deliver. Will step up into pocket while looking downfield, reset his feet and deliver.
  • Ball placement is a strength. Hartman has the natural instincts to make plays when forced to improvise.
  • Good accuracy overall, including excellent accuracy on short timing routes to backs and receivers, placing the ball slightly in front to lead receivers to potential yardage after the catch.
  • Good zip and ball placement on the quick slant. Good touch down the seam and on post-corner, flag routes to attack the defense vertically and horizontally.

Is that Book or Hartman?

Just read that Pratt is returning to Tulane.

I'm asking you to watch his highlight tape again and tell me you like Hartmans arm talent. No argument. Just want an honest fresh opinion.

I just watched again. His arm is definitely not on Books level and just a slight upgrade over Pynes. His ball has no zip, it floats when he throws it over 35 yards. And he had this weird thing where he kinda runs while he throws deep

Just see what you think again. I'm interested in your fresh opinion

I think Hartman was just the best we could do. Nobody wants to play at ND when money is on the line.

Maybe...Or maybe Rees didn't go after certain guys. I don't know the answer. Maybe he zeroed in on this kid because he wanted him. I don't know the answer

There's plenty of NIL MONEY to get for any successful ND QB

We have a great OL and running game

I'm curious to see him out of that Wake Offense with that really long ride on the inside zone plays and then you have to raise up and find your target.

The idea that people here pooh pooh the fact that he's about to become the all time TD pass leader in ACC history is laughable .

He has played for 5 seasons and played in 47 games in his career and has probably more pass atts than any QB

Well…. Watching him right now. Arm looms 10x better than anything I saw this year. ND wins 10 games no problem in 22 if 10
Is the QB.

How’s your arm talent?

Average. I played Wr and safety and was never a player at this level. Whats your point?

ND wins 10 games this year with a whole bunch of other QBs playing.

Is that your goal? Or do you want someone that has the talent to really challenge the elite.

I’ve seen him play many times in person. I think his arm is better than book maybe similar to coan. Hartman can make throws off back foot book needed to really step into. I don’t think his arm is elite but definite improvement over pyne and Buchner.

Pros
Ability to get through progressions fast
Can make very quick throws
Sneaky athletic (not book better than pyne)
Throws with touch when needed and zip when needed
Will give wrs a chance
Experience

Negatives
Will force it at times and turn it over
Has done this slow mesh for awhile
Has taken a lot of sacks and shots, his frosh year vs nd he got obliterated

I think he would be great qb to help all our young wrs learn route running and timing. He’s a 1 year qb and Buchner can still have packages and develop to have 3 person qb comp for 24

Books arm was stronger than Coan. Coan didn't have a strong arm.

Coan/Hartman Id put at equal an strength
