LSU#10 vs TAMU#15 discussion

After I posted this thread I ended up not finishing the game and going out for the night

I checked the score a few hours later and I'm shocked to see that LSU got completely ran over in the second half.

I think LSU is a really good program with some really good players incoming in 2025. I think they're going to be a legit force going forward under Brian Kelly
No. Kelly is soft AF. Mr. finesse.

At some point, I'm going to look up his overall rushing yardage / average vs top 15 teams in his career. I'd bet money it's piss poor.

BK does have a great class coming in and maybe that talent overcomes BK's greatest flaw which is winning a title isnt what drives him. Sure he wants to win but its not the most important thing in his life. He wants to golf, vacay and have somewhat of a life outside of football. BK will be a great analyst after coaching but as for coaching I dont see the drive, the obbession that Saban, Meyer, Smart possess. And to be fair to BK he is not alone very few coaches possess that level of comittment.

Chase didnt get his usual trolling in on the Navy thread because it was a blowout from start to finish. He saw LSU go up 10 vs A&M and got greedy because he thought BK was gonna roll and troll us that BK had LSU rolling because the board (myself included) have been beating our chest that ND did something the SEC teams couldnt do. When sh!t went sideways he bailed.

Accurate summary

He is not a dead man walking. What the F on earth are you talking about? Are you being serious, or you just getting in on the gangbang?

Read carefully...I said he LOOKs like a dead man walking...like frightened, drained, and down.

I made positive and measured comments about BK, supporting him...as I always have.

If calling the 2024 ND football season boring in the game day threads (because of the trash on the schedule every week) is trolling then im guilty as charged.

By your posting history, you weren’t bored during or after the NIU game

But they weren't a "force" in the 2nd half last night! It's fun to watch B K squirm.

LSU fans aren't too keen on his antics.

I still think BK is berating himself the most. He’s smart enough to know the entire context…that he wants and needs to be a champion but just isn’t.

With all the resources one can ask for, which wasn’t the case at ND.

Again: I feel for him, as he restored ND, but cannot for a number of reasons produce elite coaching. Just like most, as it isn’t easy to be Saban or Carroll.

Oh, is that all? How impetuous of me. How did I misunderstand that? He just looks as if, and has the appearance and deportment of someone about to be fired, in disgrace one would presume, disgrace and ignominy, ie 'dead man walking', for losing a big game and blowing a double digit 2nd half lead. He's not actually a dead man walking, soon to be fired from his job as LSU football coach. Not at all, he just looks like it. No other insinuation or connotation intended. Strictly the visual similarity.

I don't even know what that looks like. Don't feel like I could even visualize that accurately. Such a somber, personal thing. But I guess just refer to BK's grim countenance when LSU's about to lose to a top ten opponent. That's what it looks like.

Yes, it is as simple as I said literally said it and meant it. So you are as guilty as you think you are for being impetuous and misunderstanding.

:D

Hey, if you want to keep doubling down, be my guest. I'm not overly invested one way or the other...not knowing, to take a page out of your book, what look looks like...I'm just speculating like you and all of us are.

I’m surprised you take the time to respond to that poster.

It's all good. I don't take anything personally and like this community...even if some sure like to argue.

We're all Irish fans.

The only time I lit somebody up was some visiting fan recently from the Soundoff forum...where the lowest common denominator reigns!

:)

I don't feel for him, he was a complete douche the way he left and his sly remarks about ND after he he left.

Well you know how protective I am of BK. Maybe you just don't realize you're doing it. And you're caught up the frenzy, the collective frenzy of BK hate that reliably erupts among ND fans if anything ever unfortunate happens to him, and is immediately seized upon and riotously celebrated. And so it just naturally comes to mind, as far as the phrasing, that could be construed to include or hint at a possible firing. Not that it's going to happen, or certainly not imminently, because that would be silly. But just because, you know, when in Rome.... It's just human nature, baby! We're all here for the proverbial gangbang.....

I say it again: I've been an Irish fan since being a kid in the 70s...and experienced Davie, Willingham, and Weis. It was bad. BK has a tough few initial seasons righting the ship...but he did it, thank God.

BK got ND aspiring to be a champion again. As we're incessantly discussing, he never got close to being elite, but brought ND to being a legitimate top 10 often enough. I prefer to look at the overall record, emphasizing the good rather than the bad.

It's ok to feel differently about him. No big deal. I get it if some dislike him, as at times he sure did ask for it from the fans.

My man, you're still over-reaching if you accuse me of not realizing what I am doing regarding BK...whom I have consistently defended overall. Again, I literally did that in quite a few recent posts.

Yes, I know you are protective of BK. Not that I obsess over posters, but you get to know a few...so should you, especially if you are going to accuse of them of something negative on a pretty liberal interpretation of what they wrote.

I just said it was unconscious! So it wouldn't even be your fault, you didn't even know you were doing it. All's I'm saying is calling BK a dead man walking, or appearing as such, and using that idiomatic language, would totally be associated by anyone at all on earth who speaks the English language as alluding to some sort of impending demise, of the person to whom such language was directed, and not just the look on their face. That would be the imagery evoked by such a description, almost universally. Termination, not resignation.

Anyway, you have a nice night. And forgive me for doubting you, and indulging my paranoia around BK's good name getting besmirched by unaccountably vindictive ND fans.

I've been a fan since the 70's as well. he did right the program, but he also screwed ND in the end with how he left and what he said afterward. He's a douche and he could never win the big game, and it's a pattern that has followed him to LSU.

Well stated. I was also disgusted by how he left. No question. That said. Brian Kelly is a very good CFB head coach, and belongs in the top 10 group of top paid head coaches. I am a fan of his day to day coaching style.

We were not screwed, our AD just chose to skip the coaching search process.

There were 3 guys besides Freeman,

Fickel who was in the playoffs and wasnt gonna interview until after Jan

Campbell from ISU who had a shakey record and there was no sign he was a lights out recruiter

Stoops from Kentucky who had turned the program around but wasnt considered a homerun hire.

Freeman had recruited really well, was the hottest DC on the market and knew the kids to keep the class together.
