Kizer supporting kneeling teammates during National Anthem.

Kizer named start in Cleveland for 3rd preseason, probably will start the opener unless something weird happens.Guess this position doesn't matter that much for the team.

If yall cared as much guys like you and Rgc7 and others would start threads and talk about how yall want to boycott the NFL because of that. But no one is doing that hear. I get it, because of yall's service, which I appreciate and am respectful of, the flag is something much more personal to yall. Let's just not pretend that the two issues are equal when it comes to outrage.

I stated unequivocally that " I no longer watch nor will ever watch professional football. "

I'm a Jaguar season ticket holder. If I was going to boycott it I wouldn't renew my tickets. I have no problem with those who do though.

Personally, I have no problem with team symbolic support for the cause of racial equality. Whether that's linking arms to show multi race solidarity, or having one player each week taking a knee, or some other tasteful gesture. Tasteful of course, is in the eyes of the beholder. Kolin's kneeling was followed by wearing Undershirts during interviews with Che's image, wearing socks during games with pigs dressed as police, and making inflammatory statements. The fact he was raised by white parents, never even registered to vote, and underwent a radical transformation in appearance and actions and words after he started dating Nessa Diab, collectively seemed hyspocritical, anti American, and just pissed people off.

It wasn t dealt with because there was nothing the NFL could do. It's not a negotiated term of employment.
You are a teacher so you ASK your students to do something are you saying that it is ok
For the kids to ignore you ? When I asked it was an ORDER not a request.
When my DI said Sh.. , we said: " Yes, Sir ! How Much, Sir ?
Jump. How high, Sir ?
Discipline Discipline Discipline
Apples and oranges.

Right you said that because of the protesting. There was no reference to the domestic violence issues now. I am not saying you are pro-domestic violence, I am just agreeing with others who have suggested that the anthem issue is more important to many (you included) then the other issues.

Apples and oranges.

How is Apples and Oranges ?
If an employer or person in authority ASKS an employee to do something that he requires as an employer,
Then, the employee has little choice but to do what is asked or seek new employment.
In the case, of professional football, the owners are the Employers and the players the employees !
If the owners ASK them to rise for the National Anthem and they refuse, Those players are showing
Disdain and disrespect to their employer.
I, as an Employer would not tolerate it ! As a fan, I will not tolerate it either ! If all fans of a like mind,
Stopped the money flow, the protestors would protest to empty seats and to a non existent TV
Audience.
So I am having my own protest and ,hopefully, other like minded fans will join me ?

I am certainly against domestic violence and all crimes in general, and if people no matter what their line of
" Work " or fame should commit a crime, they should be prosecuted. Most people and fans , pay to see athletes, entertainers , etc, to perform, and have no idea of their personal lives !
On the other hand, protesters, are disrupting and spoiling the day for the fans that have absolutely
No interest in seeing a protest ! Some may not be affended by the actions of the protestors but many are
Deeply offended !
I just find it very wrong to have paying fans be a captive group to a few radical players !

I re-newed my season tickets last December....., but to be honest I only go to one game a season(Thanksgiving weekend if it's a home game), but this season they'll be in Arizona at that time so I'll go to the December 3rd game.
i sprinkle the rest to family, and friends in FLA

RIP --- Being a Jag fan has gotta be tough

We had some good Seasons but for sure it has been some seriously Bad seasons as of late.
Seems like Blake Bortles is on the hot seat.
I do like the pickup in the draft of the running back from LSU, but the defense needs to step up

You can ask all you want if you don't t have agreed upon contract language. Perhaps a course in labor relations would benefit you. My students are not my employees. If they don't t do what is asked they are sent up the food chain. Comparing a students school environment to an NFL players work environment is really silly.

No sense beating this to death, but I respectually disagree

This is getting ridiculous IMO. This racism problem is being blown out of proportion by the media and left-wing activists. Most normal people of various races get along fine. There's always been a few wing nuts. They're just getting more media exposure now, than they used to.

Case in point: the KKK has always held marches periodically, in various places. In the past, most people just ignored them, and they received very little attention. Now, suddenly, left wingers are making a big deal out of it.

The NFL willingly opens its arms for people who beat the hell out of their partners and kids, who are steroid users and other drug users, who are arrested for felonies or who obstruct in the event of a murder. I call BS on the "be ready not to collect a paycheck."

It amazes me that the NFL welcomes these type of people into their league and yet players who take a knee during the national anthem causes the snowflakes on this board to declare that they will never watch or attend an NFL game again.

It's depends on what the fake news media targets. Greg Hardy, seems to have 100 lives. Ray Rice, Gonzo. Coaching @ New Rochelle HS. Now head Kapernick? Why hasn't anyone signed him? Who needs the headache. NFL ratings are down. Now I agree it's probably because of the over saturated tv schedule. Monday, Thursday, Sunday. The folks who watch NFL games are cut from a different cloth then ND. Let's see how this plays out in the Dog Pound.

Should listen to the rhetoric from black Israelites near the bus terminal on west side of Manhattan.

This (taking a knee) seems to be the last straw for some. The wife/girlfriend beatings, drug & alcohol abuse & criminal behavior that's overlooked by the league have opened up some people's eyes about the league's policies. This is just another nail in a coffin for some. A cumulative effect.

Also do you revile someone because of an addiction? Not combining the spousal abusers with someone who's addicted to alcohol. What gets a lot people's attention is the disrespect towards America. You got a player making a ton of money. Good for him. In America's capatlist society affords a ton of poor kids to make it to the top pay tiers in America. Then on the other spectrum is a family who can't afford to go to the game. They gotta watch that BS on tv?

Harlemirish, my intention wasn't to ridicule or demean people w/ addictions. Sorry if it came off that way. My heart goes out to those that struggle in that area. My point was more about how the league views certain transgressions. It seems imbalanced at times. I was just trying to respond to those that asked if people were upset about players beating women and getting away w/ it to some extent as opposed to players not standing for the pledge of allegiance. My point was all these things contribute to people's outrage w/ some of the positions that some players are taking.

Personally I have no issue with players protesting anything .. it's a right we all hold. However if I am a franchise owner in the NFL, or the league offices themselves, I don't give the player that platform to protest. I would make them stay in the locker room till after the anthem, then they can come out. The NFL is not the platform for their protest. Take your protesting elsewhere

Bingo. As a owner with a lot of money invested. I don't want anyone hurting my brand.

So praying during the national anthem is wrong?
Praying to draw attention to yourself? Why not pray in private in the locker room? No TV cameras there?
Sports use to be a fun escape for the average guy. It's rough watching millionaires in the NFL and NBA protest anything, then go back to their comfy homes and their comfy lives. Nothing is ever accomplished. No problem is ever solved. As a ticket buyer, these guys are protesting on my dime. Just like these rock acts pontificating on stage while I pay a C note to see these self righteous do gooders waste my time talking instead of playing. I don't care what any celeb says about anything. Just entertain me like I am paying you to do.

How do they disrupt your fan experience. At the game fans are honoring the flag during the anthem and looking at it right? Or at least they should be, how many fans even see these silent protests? If fans are looking for protests instead of honoring the flag during the anthem then aren't they also disrespecting the meaning of the flag and anthem? Also, how does the protest spoil the day? Why does anyone care? Paying fans aren't held captive, they make the choice to pay and attend. They make the choice to search to see who is protesting. The players protesting arent running to midfield and kneeling or screaming out protest chants during the anthem.

Never said you were for domestic violence, just pointed out that allowing player who commit domestic violence play isn't an priority issue for you compared to these protests.

Why should we accept a normalized view about the existence of the KKK?

That's the way it used to be until the department of defense got involved.

Yep, and there are many in the stands acting way more disrespectful.

The players have the right to kneel, the fans have the right to find it offensive and the owners have the right to not employ those players.
