Kelly does it again

why did he make the comments now? did he think Kizer would simply come back/
I don't see the purpose of his comments.....

This is only driving Kizer away.

the guy only gave ND everything he had on the field. Whether or not he succeeded.
To just say those things right before the draft.
That pretty classless.
Because he was asked the question.

Why would anyone play for this idiot? If Kizer is drafted high it is good for ND. Kelly's idiotic comments after Kizer has already commited for the NFL draft just serve to chase away future recruits.
your a dufes and small mind person....

Is there evidence that BKs comments about DK will chase away recruits? I need data. I need reliable sources to confirm. Hell, Urban and Saban play games with recruits through gray shirting and taking back schollies and they don't seem to have a problems getting a few kids to come to their programs. I know many young people are snowflakes but I give most recruits more credit than that. They will look over a lot as long as they see a path to the NFL.

If people think BK is just being honest and answering questions.
why don't he do the same about his performance as a HC..
I guess he probably won't do that...

Even if the whole world knows it. You don't say it right before the draft.
it's just classless.

who does that?

I'm guessing you didn't hear any of his press conference before spring football began.

Is there one where he put everything on him.. that he is not ready to coach...
must have missed that.

this sums about what my opinions are

oh well..let's just focus players we have left..

Yeah, why don't he do the same
Brilliant!!!
He answered the question honestly and correctly.

Do some of you guys think BK should have done a Weis and say Kizer would be up there with Brady and Rodgers in a few years like he did with Quinn? The fact of the matter is that ND went 4 and 8. Duke, Navy, Stanford just to name a few Kizer had the ball at the end to win the game. Qbs like Winston who went number 1 would have found a way to win. BK Is Right He Has The Best UPSIDE but he needs a year to develop. He didn't light it upon the combine. Let's be real.

I believe Kizer only left 20 seconds on the clock in a SU loss.
And In the end, 1 of the 2 will realize the dream of being in the NFL. 1 will have come up short.

Did you listen to the interview ?

A single critical statement or comment directed at a player can be dismissed. But the comments fit the pattern of criticisms of players by Kelly. The excuse that Kelly was asked the question does not mean he was coerced to answer the question. He could easily have passed on making comments. Kizer deserved Kelly's support.
I bet the Kizer family did not appreciate the opinion expressed, especially with the draft on the horizon.
Sanford probably got a fruit basket.

Who cares what the family thought ? An honest answer to a question is just that. I have no issue with it all.

Well, then, did anyone express interest, whether you have an issue with it?

Some folks have a problem with kellys comment. I was just stating that I do not. Whether anyone has an issue with my opinion on the subject is of no concern of mine.

Duke Navy Stanford and V Tech. Had ND gotten better QB play they win all those games Fuller, Procise C Brown and R Stanley covered up Kizers warts in 2015

Last year his rear end was bared and he performed miserably. BK was 100% correct Kizer needed one more year of college...desperately. My guess is Kizer is an NFL wash out and bangs around as a back up for awhile.

Dear Mrs. Kelly,

We all know and agree DK should've gotten in one more year of college ball. Just not with your husband as his coach.

Now get me some water.

I'm guessing Lou Holtz, Steve Spurrier, and Nick Saban were not NFL ready either, yet all three still managed to carve out a decent resume in the college ranks. DK will get drafted but how long he will have a "job" in the NFL is anybody's guess at this point.

Those are 3 coaches that have won National Championships. They all had NFL and pro football opportunities.
Why make such a comparison.

^ Ok, the commonality is failure, without regard to the level of competition. Then I see where the comparision is valid.

Kizer not being ready ?
Well, not being ready is something Kelly certainly knows something about!

Kizer has signed his 1st endorsement deal. He will be in the NFL.
Kelly will get another year in college. I guess NFL GM's feel he just isn't ready.

Let's see what kind of contract DK gets and combined with endorsements, whether he should have stayed another year.

You hit the nail on the head. Career wise he should have come back. Not ready mentally nor skill wise It isn't just getting to NFL but having a career there.

But they didn't fail at the high D1 ranks. They all got opportunities in the NFL becaus of their D1 success. Kelly will never get that chance in the NFL and has failed mightily at ND. Get it, union teacher?
National Title game in 2012. If that is failure.. Sign me up for more.
I bet Echo is an excellent teacher.

Very proud to be a teacher. Saying Kelly has "failed mightily " just shoes how little you know about the game.
