This is what I'm talking about. The guy was a laughingstock, he made ND a laughingstock, and very much overrated in terms of pure ability. He didn't make it in the NFL because he's not that good. He's overcoached, not naturally talented, and has stiff, brittle technique and can't improvise or throw off platform because he's mainly a product of exhaustive coaching and practice. To say nothing of his total lack of any kind of personal appeal or natural leadership. Though he does throw a nice deep ball when he get all his technique and mechanics perfect.You seem to have as much of an issue with all of the non-football field stuff surrounding Clausen than his actual performance on game day.
He was drafted in the 2nd round and played in the NFL for six years. Clausen helped give Weis a chance at seeing year six. That was Weis’ fault he didn’t get it.
And yet ND fans continue to mourn and admire him. While Ian Book is an afterthought and is scoffed at, even though Book, most definitely >>> Jimmy Clausen.
