our 3rd ranked irish are smoking 18th ranked DePaul 65-39 at the half on espn3. the two true freshmen for our irish having a big first half. great game because both teams average in the 80s pts wise and both love to run up and down the court

Good to hear. I watched the ladies play UConn over the weekend. Although we lost, we played very well against the # 1 team, particularly considering the injury situation.

DePaul came back strong in 2nd half ,only lost 95-90 against Irish .

taya reimer played some minutes last night and didn't seem to do a whole lot to me but just getting her back on the court for any amount of minutes is a good thing moving forward. somebody on another board that must've been at the game said that turner was without her arm in a sling and passing the ball to other players with both arms which seems promising

Why isn't Nelson playing some minutes? The few times she gets in; she seems to hustle and considering the few minutes playing, does some positive things. First mistake though she's out. They are going to need another big player at least for spot duty when the ACC season begins.

just a guess but from watching this team play a few times I would say that nelson isn't playing as much because of the two true freshmen. both freshmen were top 15 overall ranking wise coming out of high school and both are playing like second year players and not first year players. I see both being future all- americans with the way there both playing

But Nelson is a "big" … she wouldn't be competing with our 2 freshman "stars". Yesterday at times ND was playing with 5 guards and no "big" when Westbeld went out with 2 fouls, also in the 2nd half when Westbeld was shown to be inefficient in the game.

For those of you watching the ND - TCU WBB game today … Nelson is playing (3 fouls in 1st half) and Reimer is nowhere to be seen.

I listened to the game today IrishHerb on und.com and it was probably there best game of the year with really good balanced scoring as every player that played scored

Reimer is done. She has left the team for personal reasons.

Given that this is the second year in a row, I have to wonder what her personal reasons are. Seemed/seems like a good kid to me.

Nelson is big, but makes mistakes quickly that result in turnovers or points against. It's either keep her in there to develop her (as a lone big) or work on changing the whole approach to a four guard system.

At this point, it would seem best to change strategy rather than develop a player who if she reached her ceiling would probably still be a bench player.

where did you read that she left the team. not saying you're wrong but just wandering where you read it

They announced it during the game today. They specifically said that last year's hiatus was temporary, but this one is permanent... she'll not be back. Sad.

That's three starters gone... from last year that were expected to be here this year. I wish her all the best, but it's another blow.

yeah I just read about it on another board and the poster said is in good standing with the university and that she will keep her schollie. wish her the best of luck at whatever road she decides to go down
