In 6 years kelly has recruited 9 Rivals 5 star recruits.

Like Henry Higgins! I think I get it:

the reason you guys all post about posters is that is all there is ! W/O anything of team news or team interest all that is left is trash talking each other or other vulgarity. Pathetic.

You just summed up your entire sorry posting career in one sentence ! If you had one tenth the heart of IrishDuck you could have been an AllAmerican ! Now get your a$$ off the board for a couple of days ! You have been demoted to third string !

Calling someone else a fraud (or hater)? Now that's funny.:p

I look forward to the day you actually contribute something to this forum (without name calling). Fraud indeed.

Why not rebuttle cvgr with some facts like others attempt to do? That would be novel.

Bodi, he is just a mindless bore. And I mean that sincerely. I doubt you could go through life and meet 5 persons as mindless and vacant of character as Bodi.
He is a pathetic version of Alfred E Neuman. To him being stupid is what he considers is his best virtue!

oye, such a deviant waste!

Coaches with better records then Kelly will not come here. UM was never actually going to sign a contract here and that is as close as we will get to that level. Now we MIGHT get lucky sometime and get a young coach who turns out great but that is about the best we can hope for.

"He asks HS coaches a simple question, "Who do you have that can play for me?""

Where did you come up with your "all the time" line?

"my point was he doesn't do what you say he does all the time. another lie."

Would you care to show me where that reference you attributed to me came from?

Or, would you just like to write that you fabricated a remark and attributed it to me?

PS Would you like to share kelly's record versus ranked opponents?
when talking to myself and our other coaches he never used the line you profess him to use. fact.

Urbie Liar would have come here if ND would have allowed him to recruit half wits and criminals.

NDs football program is massively wealthy .. why administration doesn't write a blank check for the best coach in the country and bend their self imposed handicaps to recruit the best talent in the country is extremely baffling to me.

so you would prefer they sell out on their principles so you can feel better on saturday ? i have no problem with the restrictions nd places on their program. coaches coming in know what they are. money isn't the end all to every perceived problem. there is way more to the university than football. plenty of other teams out there to root for.

While UM does occasionally recruit half wits and criminals (a lot at UF) ND not permitting him that luxury had little to do with his choice to go elsewhere at the time. It was more about recruiting ease and close proximity of 4-5 star players that swayed him away from ND.

recruiting ease meaning he could get in half wits and criminals. ND is a tough job and he didn't want to undertake it. That is fine. He will never coach at ND.

What is baffling to me is that you don't understand that ND wants to uphold some standards for the kids that they deem worthy to play football at their school.
You are the perfect SEC fan.

You avoided my direct questions. I don't wonder, why?
you said he asks high school coaches if they have anyone who can play for him. i assumed you meant he does that with all the coaches he visits. if i assumed wrong then i was wrong. i was pointing out that what you said he says is not the case in all instances, having first hand knowledge of that fact. anything else ?

Because we try to maintain a concept obviously foreign to you, known as perspective.

curious...Meyer/Saban and then who?
you won't get either of them and all things considered, the next 8-10 options(incl Kelly)are about on par with each other. Having an established experienced staff would be the tie breaker.

Wrong..... recruiting ease means he could leave his home at 6:00am, visit a half dozen 4-5 star prospects and be home in time to watch his daughter play HS volleyball the same day. And do that five days a week during recruiting season. Can't do that from Southbend.

I agree, ND is a tough job and UM will never coach at ND. Just not because of the reason you mentioned.

Wrong. He wanted to get in every nitwit and criminal which is why he chose FLA. That is the recruiting ease that he sought.

Well, you went beyond a simple "assumed wrong" and wrote, "because i am highly respected to all coaches who are aware of me. my point was he doesn't do what you say he does all the time. another lie. maybe a stop at the confessional in your future?"

So, you attempted to saddle me with something I never wrote and then called me a liar for it. Should I call your fabrication a lie? Thank you for admitting you were wrong.

As for your "anything else" remark,

"you said he stinks. that is a lie. his resume as a college football coach is excellent. keep trying though."

I asked, what's his record versus ranked teams?

Here's Athlon's recent list. I thought Harbaugh was a little high at #3. But Kelly I can agree with at #10, because he hasn't won any major bowls yet. All the guys above him have won major bowls.

1. Saban
2. Meyer
3. Harbaugh
4. Dantonio
5. Stoops
6. Patterson
7. Fisher
8. Shaw
9. Swinney
10. Kelly

but, (exclude Saban and Urb) would any have won a Major Bowl at ND in the past 6 years?
How many would put up with the everyday admin BS ?
The answer is: who knows! but after what was a major rebuild, ND should be aiming at the top.
The 2nd contract is about the W's.

a resume is the entire body of work. you can manipulate things all you'd like. his resume is stellar, you said he stinks. like costanza said "its not a lie if you believe it ". i guess i did attribute something to you that was inaccurate. my bad. hope your feelings aren't hurt too much.

It's not a guess.
I'm not manipulating anything. I asked a simple question.
As for my feelings, it cheers me up when posters avoid the substance of my posts and resort to personal attacks. It shows me that they don't have a leg to stand on.
PS imo kelly's an average to above average D1 coach. At ND that stinks....
imo His best coached game was against Oklahoma. The fsu loss was another well coached game. Those efforts are outliers and too many less talented teams stick with us and sometimes beat us. He has yet to establish an identity other than inconsistency on either side of the ball.

i have two legs firmly on the ground. you are certainly entitled to your opinion. that said, opinions are not facts. anyone can cherry pick anyones resume to support their hate filled agenda. the one -man band plays on !

He stinks.

not avoiding it. its not very good. feel better ?

Sure you were avoiding it.

I asked you the question multiple times and now you finally came up with, "its not very good."

Would you care to quantify/qualify that? I doubt you will because like him "it stinks".

He will never coach at ND

These papists always return home at some point in their lives. UM will be no different. The man has much to atone for, 8-10 years coaching ND will do a lot to restore his life's work when he meets his maker.

I would expect UM to be willing and anxious to return to coach at ND some day. And the job will be much easier after the rebuilding job Brian Kelly has done. UM could come to ND, pick up 3 NC's, and redeem himself.

he doesn't stink. he's a good coach. universally considered one of the top 15 in Division 1 . now you don't care for him but that's personal and frankly quite troubling. you can only hope to aspire in your chosen profession to the level brian kelly has in his.

^ hope here is Sanford is the next UM, only he stays at ND! 1-2 more years under Kelly, he should be ready to continue the program down the road without a 'bump'

why would i avoid it ? i gave you an accurate response.

BTW

op: he has recruited most of th 5 stars that were considered academically viable. Obtaning commitments is another issue.

I'm not sure which universe you dwell in. As of last year's ranking (below) there's not much to aspire to....

PS His record versus ranked reams stinks, therefore, he stinks. That's unfalsifiable.

@cgvr getting owned even worse than usual

That's just humiliating

What's his record versus ranked teams?
The Music City Bowl is his best bowl win.... whoopdy doo....

So you don't count wins over Top5 and Top10 teams as "best wins" then?

I think your lies have your whole argument coming apart at the seems........and its hysterical to watch!!

Did you miss your electroshock therapy today? What team was ranked in the top 5 when the human dumpling beat them? Thanks for the chuckles....

Beating #8 Oklahoma was an accomplishment. However, we were # 5 heading into the game.

Blame your phone for the typos again...."seems".... really.... Do you sit there reciting dot dot dot.....

PS kelly holds the ND record for most 13 game seasons without 10 wins.
He has 4.
