I am not sure an undefeated season will get us a playoff berth

SA, based on our schedule, ESPN and anti ND bias...do you see how we get in if 5 teams go undefeated or lose 1 game?
Oregon, ASU and Stanford have already lost, if we go undefeated that means USC lost. Does anyone see UCLA going undefeated? If we go undefeated that also means Clemson and Georgia Tech both have a loss. You would need FSU to go undefeated and win the ACC, and I think our schedule will go toe to toe with theirs just fine. An undefeated Ohio State or Michigan State maybe gets the nod over us, especially OSU, as defending champs. Assume an undefeated SEC champ is no worse than the #2 seed. Big 12? I like our chances against the undefeated Big 12 winner if we are undefeated. Big worry there would be the sympathy vote for TCU.

#1 OSU - Undefeated or loss to #5 MSU (highly doubtful)
#2 Alabama - Undefeated or loss to Auburn or LSU (highly doubtful)
#3 TCU - Loses to Baylor
#4 Baylor - Loses to #3 TCU
#5 MSU -loses or beats OSU
#6 Auburn - Loses or beats Alabama
#7 Oregon - Loses or beats USC
#8 USC - Loses or beats Oregon

See the dilemma? OSU losng to MSU will not frop them below ND. MSU losing to OSU will not drop them below ND. Alabama losing to Auburn will not drop them below ND. TCU or Baylor, depending on who wins, will be ranked higher than ND. The loser of Baylor or TCU may still be ranked higher than ND. If Oregon beats USC, Oregon will be ranked higher than ND but USC will be ranked lower if we beat them.

An undefeated or 1 loss OSU will be ranked higher than ND
An undefeated or 1 loss Bama team will be ranked higher then ND if they win the Big 10 CG
And undefeated or 1 loss MSU will be ranked higher then ND if they win the Big 10 CG
TCU or Baylor will be ranked higher than ND
The loser of TCU/Baylor will still probably be ranked higher than ND based on conference final.

There no way to tell how that will play out. If nd goes 11-1 and wins its 3 last games by 30 each and another top 4 team only wins by a few points nd will get in. The committee seems pretty fair. ND makes up a legit schedule and you play tex, sc, clem, gt, stan, and some other solid teams. If somehow all those teams turns out to be weak, then nd needs to blow them out to get in. There is no conspracy against nd.

Multiple teams rarely go undefeated anymore. It is just to competitive with too many complex schemes you must prepare for week in week out to do that. But you could have 5 one loss teams. But I still think a one loss ND has a great shot at getting in as you play so many brand names programs from different leagues. Unless youu lose by a large margin late in the season, I still see a 1 loss ND getting in.

ND will not go undefeated especially without Zaire... I have them losing this weekend and at Clemson... likely will fall somewhere else also.. Three losses realistic and still good season.. thinking about no losses after two games and losing your qb is crazy
