Hope the committee is happy

Well because everybody KNOWS that Bama is always going to be one of the four best teams. You know, like, in the abstract. They could have lost three games this year, and they'd still be one of the four best. Even four. Heck in addition to the two games they actually lost, they had three more games I believe it was that easily could have gone the other way. Literally if just one play had gone different. A missed FG or a dropped pass. So they could have gone 8-4 and still been one of the four best teams, just on pure ability, and prowess, and like, who would you pick to win a game if you had everything riding on it, Bama or TCU? Most people would probably take their chances with Bama even at 8-4. Because they're just better.

And obviously we're not going to pick the four playoff teams on that basis. And the fact that fans are even arguing about this just shows you once again how morbid and unwholesome CFB's postseason is. And how it is crying for a much more strict W/L criteria, which the expanded playoff will come with, even if there are still several at-large bids....
RIGHT AGAIN.

Teams should have a SOS of 25 or higher to make the playoffs too, make this teams play a better schedule.
That revolves every week...

But... i agree with scheduling

It's not that difficult...

100 points for a D1 win or conference win

125 points for a win vs a D1 opponent from another P5

150 points for a D1 win vs a different P5 team on the road

ND...

Simple...
Incentive for teams to play out of conference P5 games...

Top 12 teams with highest points are in the playoffs.

NO MORE BEAUTY PAGEANT or popularity contest.

Simple..

Playoff is set

P.s.

Zero points for any Non D1 games

So if you go and beat Vanderbilt on the road you get 150 points

If you beat OSU or Michigan or Georgia at home you get 125 points

LOL, that is one of the dumbest things I've seen!!!!

How long did it take for you to come up with this??

Home field advantage makes a big difference. Mr. Richard Head

He can't understand (refuses) simple things like his favorite conference the SEC, and favorite team Alabama, refusal to play above the Mason Dixon line post Halloween and it's not by coincidence.

Playing in adverse weather means nothing to someone with a controller in hand and the Honeywell set at 72° by his Mum.

not on board with this format but definitely agree on incentives for playing a more challenging schedule. Ga schedule next year is comical

This will be sorted out when it goes to 12 teams.

When you give 4 freaking teams a CHANCE to play for the championship out of 100, there are always going to be teams legitimately screwed out of getting that chance. TCU, destroyed or not, deserved the CHANCE to play for the championship of their sport.

When it goes to 12, the other team(s) that also should be in (Alabama & OSU this year) plus others that also undeniably deserve that chance will also be in. It should’ve been ~10 teams from the start. I honestly don’t really care if teams 9-12 (or whatever) get beat all the time (and they won’t, there obviously will be upsets,) more than 4 freaking teams should be in a playoff to decide a champion of a league as big as CFB is.

The big psychological shift that will have to take place, or set in, for all the backwards, benighted CFB fans, is that the regular season is no longer going to be some grim, unforgiving death march and the cult of the undefeated season with wither away into nothingness. And which is nothing more than a historical vestige that has long outlived any sort of usefulness, where the so-called 'national champion' was decided by sportswriters, after the exhibition bowl games were completed on January 1st, six weeks or so after the end of the regular season. Why anyone sees any virtue or merit in CFB's horrible system, unique yes, but also horrible, is probably an imponderable thing. But not really, as CFB fans are a blatantly reactionary bunch, and so naturally they'll be inclined to uphold any tradition inherited from the past, no matter how terrible or senseless. In fact the more odious the 'tradition' the more apt they are to vehemently defend it. See NIL....

So once they get out of their collective rut, we can all enjoy what will be a truly kick-ass playoff, and a setup pretty close to a fully authentic playoff tournament.... that will be effectively rid of all the overwrought, hyper-opinionated ranting and raving about who the best or most deserving, or undeserving teams might be as a matter of abstract opinion, and you'll have 12 teams in the playoff field, hopefully split up pretty evenly between automatic and at-large bids, and whoever runs that gauntlet successfully is the champ. And the champion with full honors and laurels and no second-guessing. Not a perfect system but close enough. Like a mini-version of NCAA basketball tourney. Pure awesomeness.....

Good job on that awful system you created

Beating Northwestern is worth more than Beating Georgia

Brilliance!!

Stop acting like a little b**** that you are.

Instead of crying about the SEC, how about go beat them.

But that will take actual work and effort which you arent familiar with

You want everything handed to you, you're a pathetic liberal

Go earn it

Simply a matter of posting something with 2 seconds of thought that would be better than the Punch and Judy show we have now.

In other words people could sit down over a few belts of Kettle One and come up with an incentive laiden system that removes the stupid dot connecting and what if hypothetical bullshit now.

Cross over conference games are far and few between. Hell the SEC won't play north the Mason Dixon line when their paddies might get too cold.

I bet someone would offer to give them hot cocoa for their little frailness

A liberal?

That's the best you got? That's your defense of more indefensible.
Just like when you fell on Brian Kelly's sword every god damn day...
Can't defend the indefensible other than saying Liberal?
LOL.

Again WTF are you doing here?

BTW dear child...

I don't want anything handed but your little child brain can't comprehend that.

Ready?
I'm advocating for the SEC to man up and play outside the greatest climate in the United States for football.

Oh they will...just not after Halloween.

Let's settle it on the field in adverse conditions.

In other words earn it.

P.S.
Bama and others have a Rivals board. They'd welcome a huge fan like yourself. Again...you already knew that.

While I agree with most of what you are saying, but I gotta say, a word of advice, you lose alot of credibility when you introduce the "liberal" label in any discussion; especially given it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Most of this country is part "liberal" and part "conservative", depending on the issue at hand; as it should be, and discussing either in context is perfectly appropriate. Labeling someone as liberal, as an insult meaning soft, is a different level of naive. Why not just make your points based on football, instead of guiding down some ridiculously naive rat hole that has nothing to do with anything here?

Because he tries to take shots at me every time he posts. So I'm going to call him out now. If hes going to run his mouth, I'm going to come back at him.

I know he's a clown but it's amusing calling him out for his moronic comments

I can't think of but a handful of posters on here who act like a child and or use other people's phrases...call names, etc.

You are definitely on the forefront of that. Your posts are littered with name calling to anyone who disagrees with you....on a message board...that exists because of differing opinions....BTW

I'm going to cry because the SEC wins all the time.

They dont play where I want them to play during the month I want them to play.

So I'm going to act like a child and cry about it

They're too good. So I want a participation trophy. Make it fair

Wah wah wah

What a p****

The simple solution is to let the Las Vegas professionals do the rankings !
