Holy Clark Lea

I posted to this on another thread.

I am pretty convinced AL, GA, OSU, and TX are tier 1.

My gut right now says TX and OSU are the 2 best teams...who stand to actually get better. Like you said, OSU has REALLY impressive talent.

I like MI, Oregon, Tennessee, WA, teams that can give anybody a run for the money on a good day. Maybe some kind of tier 2.

Most importantly, I still don't believe ND is there in all this discussion. But as we keep discussing, there is hope the Irish run the table and get put to the test in the playoffs...if other teams lose more games, which seems likely.

Amazingly enough, I'm at a 180 after a bye week's results that ND has a legitimate shot again to m make the playoffs...but it's about ND not the other teams. Can MF, Denbrock, RL, and the OL improve and win convincingly AND consistently...something that honestly hasn't happened until now.
Not seeing it all with Mi. Same with Wa. They are similar to USC in my view.

Let’s see Oregon after this month and they play some tough teams

USC went down some notches for me. I think the Irish beat them at this point. The USC D still has issues after all...and I am not convinced Riley is a top coach. I live in CA, experienced Caroll and the Trojans, he should do better with VAST talent in this state.

Again, I do give weight to USC schedule: LSU, MI, WI, and MN is a gauntlet. Do you agree?

One massive factor as well: travel between coast is taking its tool. I think this plays a role in consistency with college kids.

But clearly USC is inconsistent. They should not lose to MN. Got a tough schedule ahead of them. Not showing tier 1 form at all.

I think USC got totally screwed by the Big10 scheduling. 4 cross country trips I believe. That is brutal. Big protected OSU and PSU and Mi

USC not equipped for weekly physical games

I saw the MI losses. Again, they're not bad and played a tough schedule so far. They're not far from being a pretty strong team.

Come on, you're a seasoned fan...MI played USC, TX, and WA...digest that. Vs ND having issues in every game but vs Purdue...with the win against TAMU being solid, but not consistent.

I think you know better than me how to weight these things.
Michigan struggled vs Fresno State and beat Arkansas state by only 10. Beat minnesota by 3

They haven't been impressive this year at all

Washington is an above average team but not near great this year

Show me how you can back this up by actual results.
Sure. I took the 8 best teams in the SEC (by their F+ rating) and included their 85-man roster talent score from the 247 Team Talent Composite Rankings. I also took Notre Dame's 2024 opponents and included them in the sort (surprise, 99% of NDs opponents are at the bottom of this ranking). Basically, the top 8 teams in the SEC would be favored in every game vs NDs opponents😅😂🤣
  • Notre Dame's 2024 opponents are bolded.
  • Rankings below are sorted by F+ rating.
  • A F+ rating above 0 is above average team, below 0 is below average team (average in relation to ALL 130+ teams in the FBS including the G5).

how the hell was 4-1 Michigan ranked in the top ten? as in #10. There were so many good 4-1 or 5-0 teams behind them.

The first place team in the SEC, TAMU, besides losing to us, plays MKnees, Mississippi State, Bowling Green, New Mexico State, Auburn etc. Which come pretty close to hot garbage as well.
