Apparently he accepted and than had a change of heart.on the GM position. The search continues. Many thought it was a done deal.
Family....tough to move 5 kids and a wife from Texas when you don't have to / already have a good jobApparently he accepted and than had a change of heart.
Didn't Notre Dame use the same excuse when they failed to sign Wittingham because they didn't want to pay his modest buyout at Utah?Apparently he accepted and than had a change of heart.
Texas born. Texas raised, 5 really young kids. The dude’s entire family lives in Texas.Geez wouldn’t leave freaking Texas Tech . Yikes
These factos can be very important, especially if kids are involved in activities.Family....tough to move 5 kids and a wife from Texas when you don't have to / already have a good job
Exactly...if he was unemployed....or the pay bum was so crazy but there is no sense risking divorce....These factos can be very important, especially if kids are involved in activities.
Kind of easy to speak for another when you have no idea his family reasons.Geez wouldn’t leave freaking Texas Tech . Yikes
Aren’t you tired of being proven an asshat?Didn't Notre Dame use the same excuse when they failed to sign Wittingham because they didn't want to pay his modest buyout at Utah?

Why would you conclude that the rejection was focused on divorce? So he turned down the ND job to avoid a divorce. Wow. I think he should have just taken it anyway, called his wife's bluff. But you have to think about the kids, they don't want to grow up in a broken home. Can't risk it. I don't see how Lubbock is better than S Bend, that seems like a wash to me. I guess it doesn't snow as much.
James Blanchard and his wife feel differently.Except you have to live in Lubbock. Biggest shit hole in Texas
Chase is the ultimate horse’s ass and he doesn’t even care.Aren’t you tired of being proven an asshat?
Can you ever just STFU, are you that desperate for attention? For F's sake, I was just goofing off, you imbecile. I don't even know who this dumb motherfcker is, nor does anyone else on this message board. He's just some stranger, he's a name. He doesn't have anything to do with ND at all. There's no need for anyone at all in the ND fan universe to give a F about his personal life. He didn't take the job, who the F knows why. Whether you 'respect' something or not has no existence in the known universe. It's just you babbling like a creep. Why would you conclude that the rejection was focused on divorce?
The displacement and relocation of five children to a new environment is a very serious and traumatic event in the lives of those children
He made his decision and we should respect it

I think it's more about being comfortable and happy. Look at Larry Kehres. No doubt in my mind that he would have found tremendous success at the highest level of college football and he had many, many opportunities over the years to make that move. It just wasn't something he aspired to and was perfectly content with his niche at Mount Union. He surely could have made much more money but that's not the carrot for everyone. I understand it is for many.Texas Tech = Small Timey
Not to Texas born and Texas raised James Blanchard and his wife.Texas Tech = Small Timey
Yeah, yeah.Oh the irony

If there’s no reason to give a **** about this guy, why did you post about him ?Can you ever just STFU, are you that desperate for attention? For F's sake, I was just goofing off, you imbecile. You’d have to be a flaming idiot, absent any brain cells and objectivity to support savvyandsassy’s uninformed excuse for his prior blunder, but then again, that’s typical of most of your posts !Ouch!
I just don't know how you can keep this up. You're so well-spoken, and intelligent and educated, and you have this genteel little pose that you never, ever waver from, even though you're a proven troll, and you don't mean any of it. It's all just your internet alter ego. And now you've got your bold, oversized text thing going, to heighten the effect. It's like something out of a horror novel or something. Like from Roald Dahl perhaps. If there’s no reason to give a **** about this guy, why did you post about him ?
You’re a hypocrite !
You were the idiot who claimed that his decision was influenced by the prospect of divorce
I merely pointed out that you were the idiot that jumped to a rash and uninformed opinion absent the facts, which isn’t unusual for you.
You misspoke, so own it instead of trying to pretend that you were goofing off.
I’m just pointed out that you were a fool for jumping to conclusions without the facts
ND used to be a destination job - somehow it's turned into a stepping stone.Didn't Notre Dame use the same excuse when they failed to sign Wittingham because they didn't want to pay his modest buyout at Utah?
Who else we looking at then ?ND used to be a destination job - somehow it's turned into a stepping

This sounds like other posters who post in this Forum.ND used to be a destination job - somehow it's turned into a stepping stone.
Hasn't been that way in a long, long, long time.ND used to be a destination job - somehow it's turned into a stepping stone.
It’s a delicate balance and with the cost of a college education soaring to ridiculous levels, you have to make sacrifices in order to advance your career in order to support your family and educate your children.I think the whole idea of destination jobs has diminished substantially in the past 10-20 years. I'm 41, and lots of people in the generation above me have advised me not to repeat their mistakes about choosing career success over family. I've taken their advice to heart, and I feel like I'm seeing plenty of other middle-aged people do the same.
Lubbock TXFamily....tough to move 5 kids and a wife from Texas when you don't have to / already have a good job
Lubbock TX is 660 miles away from where Blanchard was born in Orange TX. That's twice the distance to Albuquerque.Texas born. Texas raised, 5 really young kids. The dude’s entire family lives in Texas.
