Again. ND is all hype. Possibly the biggest fan base too. It doesn't make them relevant where it counts!!!!!ND vs Georgia is one of the most expensive tickets in CFB. Not bad for a irrelevant team.

Too bad they don't have an actual team that "brings it" on the field in big games. Not other ND games, other teams' games are going down.
And according to SeatGeek (who pools all the secondary markets) the tickets are being bought up by fans nationally (not from Georgia addresses).
So it seems a lot of people nationally want to attend.
You can look at it from a negative perspective, a positive perspective, or from the neutral perspective, which is that ND still brings in the fans & money even off a 4-8 season as numerous articles have indicated?
It is what it is. And that is ND still has a brand that brings it.

ND is all about brand. Great. Congrats. They certainly are not about winning. 4, 5, 3, and 8 = 20 losses in the last four seasons. Are you kidding me? That's pathetic.
Where it matters the most ND is irrelevant.
We managed to lose a game where the opponent had 123 yds total offense. Amazing. Turnovers count.I just watched that game a couple weeks ago
That's a pretty apt description.what is relevant or irrelevant?
ND remains a relevant brand name and a prestigious name on any opponents schedule.
ND is not currently a team that is thought a serious NC contender; and in objective opinions, a somewhat longshot to be a playoff team.
ESPN has released its latest article with an installment of their College Football Future Power Rankings which measures how well each team is set up for sustained success for the next three seasons. The main factors to determine the rankings were based on current roster, recruiting, the quarterback situation, coaching, team's path to a conference championship and the eventual College Football Playoff.
The Top 25 teams in the future rankings were (in order): Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, Clemson, USC, Michigan, Oklahoma, LSU, Washington, Stanford, Penn State, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Miami, Auburn, Florida, Texas, Virginia Tech, TCU, Louisville, Oregon, Utah, Texas A&M, and Tennessee.
Is Notre Dame even relevant anymore?
We may not be a "current" contender but we did play for it in '12 and were a last second fg loss at Stanford away from a possible final four in '15. That doesn't constitute irrelevance, imo. Disappointing? Absolutely, but not irrelevant.
Allteamball - "If ND was in the ACC they would be 4th maybe" - They aren't in the ACC for football because they are independent because they can be. They are a national program. Clemson, on the other hand, is a program that splits the state of South Carolina. Thus they must be in a conference. The Irish will be just fine. I've never visited a Clemson board. My guess is they have one. Thank you for talking about the Irish.
Not relevant and you still needed a failed 2 point conversion to hold on at Clemson.I'll be upfront, I am a Clemson fan and looking forward a to revived rivalry with ND. I was at the last Clemson-ND game and it was a classic. In fact, the last 3 games between the 2 teams were classics.
Disappointed that ND is not even considered relevant anymore....
