Guy’s we will miss Tommy

I get what you’re saying, and don’t totally disagree. I just hope that Tom’s success at Bama doesn’t create “false positives” that eventually affect ND and drive ND to maybe make a not so great decision.

I like Tom Rees, I do, but the results here were good, not great.

Go be great at Bama. Then go be great somewhere else, then maybe come home to ND at some point.
i agree with you. I certainly would not like him to come directly after his time at Bama. Tommy has a long runway, and if one day it leads him back to ND, I’ll welcome him.

Most definitely!!
Ridiculous!!!! When ND hired GP as the TE coach did you say man that guy should be an OC????

Tommy was the best OC ND has had in 30 years. But Hey, let’s go GP. Do what Tommy didn’t

I personally don't want him back here. Him succeeding at Alabama is a given as its almost impossible to fail with all that talent. He better hope he isn't the only one to fail because that would look really really bad for him and would set him back years
You don’t pay an average OC 2mil a year. You don’t bring in an average OC to run a Billion dollar business like Bama football

100. 2-million per year, at age 30, to navigate the Alabama offense is far from "average..."
Man, exactly!!!!! Tommy will be missed Period.

No one on this board is filled with confidence about GP. No one, not even Golson lol.

Who said they were? Zorich said hes all about wins and losses and Parker would have to lead ND to a playoff win. You need to read and comprehend before you spat your mouth off like you like to do.
No, you need to try to read with some degree of comprehension that’s above the 5th grade level.

I posed two questions that were in response to YOUR post, not Zorich’s post.

Try making an attempt to answer them instead of whining !

When you have a Sam Hartman and a seasoned OL, it's a great start.

The Jimmys and the Joes matter more than X's and O's.

What’s your sage advice if Parker is worse than 54-10 Rees ?
Only the head coach gets credit for wins and losses, and Rees wasn't the OC for that long, either. He was only the OC for 3 years.

Belichick hited 2 awful OCs last year and New England is an 8 billion dollar business and better than Nick.

Your point makes zero sense. Coaches make mistakes all the time

Enough talk about it.

We all know what Rees did here.

We'll see what Parker does. If he's better than Rees, come back here pull this up, eat your crow and admit you were wrong

And I'll do the same if his offenses are worse than Rees

Enough of the reminiscing. He's gone. We will have actual evidence soon enough

Tommy Rees is 30, and just signed a 2-million per year contract to be the OC for Nick Saban at Alabama.

Tommy Rees is winning.
We'll see this season. The talent will be there and a defense that will give his offense a break

Those are just rumors that money had anything to do with missing out on Ludwig or Klein from Kansas St. Ludwig's from Utah and has been coaching there a long time. Maybe he just didn't want to leave. Same with Klein, who's coaching at his alma mater.
As Rees leaves his

Your point makes zero sense because you brought up an NFL coach.

Name the last “average” OC Nick hired???

I will wait

Major Applewhite
Bill O'Brien
Doug Nussmeier

None of these were slam dunk hires.
I'd consider O'Brien a slam dunk hire. He was a former NFL head coach who'd also been a successful OC for the New England Patriots. You don't get any better credentials than that for a college OC.

It was already said.

And he hired them. But it doesn't matter. They all succeed because it's impossible to fail there. Too much talent

You can’t make a valid comparison because the personnel and opponents are different

Didn’t Tommy Rees go 30-8 for a 79 % winning percentage in his three years as ND’s OC ?

What other OC’s have that good of a record record over the last three years ?

My guess is that it’s the non-ND graduates that are denigrating TR.

WHY would anyone want a former ND player, an ND graduate and a former ND coach to fail ?

Winning percentage is a head coaches stat not an OC.

We went 10 and 3 with BVG as a DC in 2015. Does that mean he did a good job?

Use relevant stats and data for an OC, not a HC stat

Who said anything about wanting TR to fail? Please continue to type in bold letters, it makes your stupid comments seem so much more stupid

That makes no sense
Speaking for my self Notre Dame football has been a lage part of my life since birth (1960) as with millions of Notre Dame fans.
The non alum fan base is what has prop Notre Dame its status to what it is today
No Notre Dame fan wants anyone to fail on the football program.
I wonder if you felt the same way when the fan base was critical of Weis?
