Hardly think the different offense would be an obstacle at all for him. Small potatoes. That said I think there are better options.Coastal Carolina....
They run a gimmick offense. I dont think hed fit our offense that well.
It would be a totally different language for him to learn
English vs Chinese
I think it will. It causes a lot of problems going from college to pro when kids come from gimmick type of offenses to a pro style, read the whole field offense. Happens all the timeHardly think the different offense would be an obstacle at all for him. Small potatoes. That said I think there are better options.
Last I checked Notre Dame isn’t a pro team. He is an elite college QB and a legit pro prospectI think it will. It causes a lot of problems going from college to pro when kids come from gimmick type of offenses to a pro style, read the whole field offense. Happens all the time
Maybe he would be different but absolutely would be a big difference for him
I also agree there are better options out there
We run a pro style offense. Its not an easy offense to pick up quickLast I checked Notre Dame isn’t a pro team. He is an elite college QB and a legit pro prospect
You act as if there are "top prospects" at QB all over the transfer portal. The majority of QB's in the transfer portal are not big time players, or "top prospects.".We run a pro style offense. Its not an easy offense to pick up quick
Hes elite at a lower level and he is a pro prospect like Book and Coan were. He might go late sonewhere in the draft. Hes not a top prospect
I never said there were. But there are better prospects than himYou act as if there are "top prospects" at QB all over the transfer portal. The majority of QB's in the transfer portal are not big time players, or "top prospects.".
I believe there is a decent chance Tyler Buchner starts in Ireland.I never said there were. But there are better prospects than him
Do you consider Hudson Card a depth piece?I think some people are going to be disappointed when we get. A depth piece at QB and NOT a sure fire starter.
1. ND is vested in Buchner and so is Rees.
2. Minchey is good...and can play. A similar system as Buchner. His commitment changes the urgency from needed a potential starter if Buchner gets hurt, to a couple game starter until Minchey is ready to go.
3. Transfer guys see the room differently with minchey then Carr coming. If Buchner beats them out they wasted a transfer.
Hahahaha you are so wrong about him as a pro prospect it’s laughableWe run a pro style offense. Its not an easy offense to pick up quick

Never seen him play, but the articles I’ve read suggest he is a likely second round draft pick. Good size, great feet, good arm strength, good pocket presence, great accuracy with a very quick release. We run a pro style offense. Its not an easy offense to pick up quick

I am not certain, health notwithstanding, that Hudson Card is an upgrade over Tyler Buchner.Do you consider Hudson Card a depth piece?
I was excited as anyone over the prospect of Buchner being our starting QB. Thought he looked good against Ohio St given the poor play of our OL, and his lack of experience and playing in an exceptionally loud hostile away game environment. I was taken back by how poorly he played against Marshal…missing a wide open sure TD pass that should be completed damn near 100% of the time, and a terrible interception for a pick six. The OL played poorly as well, and he was hampered with a poor running game and passing under pressure. That said, his passing was really poor that game, and his pocket awareness poor as well. I would love Buchner to play to our earlier expectations and realize his considerable potential, but it would be a huge gamble to rely on this along with his injury record. I would take a one year rental in Leary or Pratt or McCall, and have a real QB competition; and I would be less enthused over someone with two years of eligibility given the talent we have recruited going forward. The Gator Bowl should answer a lot of questions as to Buchner's ability.I am not certain, health notwithstanding, that Hudson Card is an upgrade over Tyler Buchner.
The OL was absolute garbage against Marshall. I will wait and judge TB when the offense has a competent OL and a running game that is at least adequate.I was excited as anyone over the prospect of Buchner being our starting QB. agreed...he'd be getting a big upgrade in coaching from AAC to P5. Good coaches know how to maximize your talent and make the information they teach easy to consume and learn.Hardly think the different offense would be an obstacle at all for him. Small potatoes. That said I think there are better options.

Where? On the roster? Minchey?Hardly think the different offense would be an obstacle at all for him. Small potatoes. That said I think there are better options.
Minchey is the guy. Let it go.
It’s better than what ND had in September- no offense.I always love the term "gimmick" offense
We could have Pat Mahomes and Tommy would make him sit behind some JAG.This is an unrealistic expectation.

GA3? Poor exampleThis. I imagine we beat Marshall if he hadn’t kept Merriweather on the sideline and actually threw him the ball. We all saw what he did when it was too little too late vs Stanford. I’m concerned he’s too stupid to play Greathouse and Love even if they’re Mike Floyd and GA3.
I don't think he's coming. No inside information..full disclosure.Do you consider Hudson Card a depth piece?
We beat Marshall if Tyler Buchner wasn't the one with the most rushes on the game. It was a horrible plan. Rees made a critical error and over thought things. Marshall was the perfect place to just let Buchner throw deep fades of play action. Instead he had him run read option in 8-9 people and tried to make him run progressions over the middle while under duress. It was simply a bad game plan, coupled with a VERY UNINSPIRED EFFORT FROM THE OL, and a total lack of adjustments.This. Absolutely stupid move, you have a stud in Carr.ND is going after Raiola!
