Kind of agree. I don’t think there’s any particular complication to our running game, and actually wish Rees would call more counter and misdirection plays. I can’t see the whole field as our passing plays develop, so I’m largely dependent on replays of passing plays to get a sense of what’s going on with our receivers. My impression is that our routes take a long time to develop, and our QB’s are reluctant to pull the trigger until after a receiver has made their Final Cut And gained separation. That puts a ton of pressure on the OL! Would love to see some quick hitting slants across the middle, some long isolation throws to Merriweather down the middle, and a real RPO dynamic. I thought we would get this with Buchner, but Rees play calling for those seven quarters was pretty vanilla.
