What game would you rather have won? Since the lads did beat FSU on the field but couldn't defeat one single official and his zebra pals, I go with Kentucky. That damn game from last night stings like the dickens.

Kentucky. In hindsight, the FSU game lost some meaning. This bball team was truly good enough to win it all.

I would compare it to the 05 USC game in terms of sting. That would be a better comparison imo.

Jack....good question! My answer is probably different now than then. Today it would be ky.......last season fsu. Maybe one day we will have an AMAZING trifecta.......Football NC....and MBB & WBB all the same year. ND is close!

Go Irish!!!

jack,

Hands down, the Kentucky game. I'm biased towards basketball though. ND football is always going to be that seven to nine win team. We may never see ND this close to the final four again. You could see it on Brey's face last night in the post game presser. He knew his team was the better team but it just didn't go ND's way. ND was schooling Kentucky all night. I'm still sick to my stomach.

I hate sports.

I know we have many younger fans in our community here but the old timers will understand what I am about to say. I'm still not over ND's late game loss to USC in 1964 that cost the Irish the national title. Then you have the BC loss in 1993, the USC loss in '05, the loss vs Bama in the BCS game, and last night vs Kentucky. . As sporting events go, those losses were all hard to take. I realize in the scheme of world events, none of this is important, but strictly as a sporting event, last night and the other games mentioned were very hard to take. And this isn't taking into account the losses by the ladies in title games, our hockey lads vs BC, and the men's LAX loss. I'm getting too old for this stress. It's supposed to be relaxing sporting entertainment.

echo...i still see that nd linebacker dropping that sure pick on bc's winniing drive..ugh....had to bring that up didn't you...

1993 was a great year to be a Notre Dame AND Phillies fan.

I got over the UK game in about ten minutes. Maybe because I saw no shame in it, or because I care more about the gridders but losing to Kentucky was disappointing but not crushing.

FSU win was taken from us. The Orange Bowl loss to Colorado was worse than the Kentucky game for the same reason

And has any oldtimer noticed Grant's heave was in the direct opposite corner of Dwight Clay's winner against UCLA in 74?

Pete Bercich. The pass was thrown right at him. We have had this discussion several times over the years. Some point to other factors for the Irish loss and are willing to give Pete Bercich "a pass". That was a tough one.

irishjack...i am not "blaming" him...bang-bang play...what an agonizing play. I would bet a beer that Pete sees it in his dreams...he was a good player

Right or wrong, I blamed Pete for years. You have to make a play when given the opportunity. Others will point to plays that were not made by ND that contributed to the BC loss. All are valid and solid points.

I think this reintroduced ND back into the Final Four discussion. A place they have not been since 74-81. The loss stings for sure, but let the kids build on it! Not hang heads and say ND may never get back to the Elite 8? Come on!!!!

With the one and done at UK, Duke, and UNC. ND can easily put together Wisconsinesque veteran teams that can consistently make deep runs in the tournament. I'm optimistic and excited about the future of ND hoops.

Hoping that it helps recruiting....we need one big body inside to fulfill this incoming class. Ryan kid is a steal.

Sure was -- felonous what that bastard did to us last Oct . 93 dropped pass was a ball buster as well - I drove from Philly to FSU game the week before in 93 . 93 loss was pretty rank

I cannot wait fo FSU to visit SB in 2016
