Keely seems to be a mystery bordering being average or less

More than a year after arriving at Alabama as one of the Tide's highest-rated recruits since 2000, five-star edge Keon Keeley has appeared in only one game.

That came in the season opener last month against Western Kentucky, when Keeley made his Alabama debut in the closing minutes of the 63-0 blowout. He did not see the field the next week against South Florida, and was among a small group of scholarship players who were not spotted in uniform for pregame warmups at Wisconsin.

Defensive line coach Freddie Roach was asked Wednesday about Keeley and gave an update on his behind-the-scenes development.
p
"He's gotten better," Roach said. "It's a commitment from him, and he's done that. We're just gonna continue to make him a better player. That's what it is. If he's focused on doing that, and nothing else, he'll be fine.

"I'm proud of Keon from where he's come from, and where he is now, but he's got to continue to improve."

All depth charts aren’t the same.

Keon doesn’t play at Georgia Tech.

Keeley made a really bad decision.

You don't know that. In fact you don't know sh1t
And you're a troll. Who cares. I dont know shit. I think you're a troll and a moron. We go back and forth. Who cares

I wish you can add anything of substance or interesting or any solid opinion of your own on here.

You talk a lot of shit about a lot of people but you never have put anything on here interesting or insightful yet.

Have your own opinion on at least something

Please, everything you post can be found elsewhere. you bring zero value other than regurgitating Driscoll's narrative. You're a sheeple. 23k+ posts in 5 years, and maybe 500 of your posts were meaningful get a life. Get out of your parents basement loser.

You have no idea what Keon Keeley is going through, Based on that article it appears he had lost some focus and he's getting back to it. You don't know cr@p So STFU.

That's something a person without an original opinion of his own would say. Not surprised

If someone on here would say I'm overly opinionated, I would agree. I have strong opinions and don't back down. Your comment is just stupid and makes zero sense

That's why you are a troll. And a moron. And a loser. What you aren't is someone with any original or intriguing opinions or thoughts.

You talk shit because you have nothing at all to actually say

And you derailed another thread because of your obsession with me. I didn't speak on you but you cannot help yourself

So what, many 5 star athletes struggle early on or flat out become a bust. We have no idea what's going on in his life to sit there and judge a 19 year old kid.

You make a comment about a 19 year olds decision, when you don't know crap about the kid. So just shut up dude you're a loser hiding behind a keyboard.

Signing guys like Deuce Knight and Keon Keeley at a place like Notre Dame isn’t easy.
Exactly, they want to major in football not a real major, but they also probably were offered more money as well, or they wanted to stay closer to home, it could be any number of factors that led to their decisions

IMO, neither one of the two of you are trolls.

Chaseball and Quixote are trolls.

I'm going to continue to comment on a ND previous recruit/commit on a ND football message board. He made a bad decision and it has nothing to do with what's going on in his life.

If you don't like it, block me or don't read what I have to say. I dont give a shit. All you do is run your mouth without an actual football opinion about anything. And try to derail threads with your constant obsession with me.

Here's an idea. Ignore me or don't read what I put on here. It won't bother me at all.

Im not as concerned missing out on those guys as most are. ND's roster is elite even with some of the disadvantages vs the GA, Bama, OSU. ND is currently 6th in active players on NFL rosters and tied for 2nd with 5 top 100 players in the NFL. If you look at our Defense's 2/3 deep there is only a handful that wont get drafted. Even after losing 2 olineman to the draft last year & 3 injuries the oline is still better than the majority of the top 25. WR is the only position group that I think is currently below average vs the top 25. If we can ever land that true elite QB that can dominate a title will follow.

I'm not saying ND doesn't have an elite roster, they do, but they are missing the difference makers. As you pointed out QB has been a big disappointment for a long time. Hopefully, ND finally has one waiting in the wings in Carr.

Ian Book was far from a big disappointment.

He always was a better fit in Notre Dames defense. If you ever listened to him do an interview, he is a Notre Dame kid. He left after Bama came in with money and reportedly giving his uncle or whoever his advisor was a job.

He went to Bama for the wrong reasons. For money and because his family pushed him there

He was a better fit in our D and a good fit personally here

He would be playing at ND right now. That's my opinion. And on a message board that's what all this is. Opinions.

Injuries really robbed us this year. If Botehlo and Traore dont get hurt they were game changing edge rushers. Cross started slow this yr but has started to turn it on. Mills is solid and backs up like Rubio and Hinish are damn good back ups. LB's as a whole are elite. Secondary is elite with Watts as one of the best gamechangers in CFB. Love is a gamechanger. Losing Craig at Center was a huge blow. Im hoping Lambert can progress where Knapp can slide down to guard and sure up the oline. If Faison can ever stay healthy he would solve some of our WR woes.

QB play has been average at best. No vertical
passing game. A top 5 team would limit this offense even with a healthy OL, the offense would be limited vs top 5 teams.

Agree.

IMO this isn’t a final 4 roster. Either by personnel or watching them play.

I believe the defense is, the RB's, and a healthy OL are. The WR's are not elite, but they are above average, QB passing is below average, QB running is above average, this why the offense would be limited vs top 5 teams.

Absolutely the defense is. The offense IMO is pedestrian against a top 5 team.

Georgia is in the same boat. Offensively they are not as good as ND. Their defense will have to carry them all year.

Does anyone actually look up the data before they just spew a bunch of drivel. Georgia's offense is currently ranked 44th in all of college, and they are averaging 447 yards per game and they've played a much more difficult schedule than ND. 40% of their games have been vs top 15 teams.

I don't sleep on Saturdays. I watch The Premier League at 6:30 am leading up to College Football kickoffs at Noon and shut it down around 1am the next morning. People forget that Clemson and Georgia was a 6-0 poop show at half before the Georgia defense just overwhelmed the Clemson offense and Clemson's defense just got tired. Kentucky bottled up Georgia all game. They were the better team but Kentucky did what Kentucky does against UGA and pooped the bed. If Kentucky scored 1 td vs UGA and they had a few chances we would be talking about UGA being a 2 L team vying for a playoff spot. And I hope you don't think Georgia's offense won them the game against Texas. A solid defense is shutting down Georgia.

Georgia's offense scored 34 points vs Clemson, passed for 278 yards and ran for another 169 for 447 total yards. Against a top 10 team

They scored 48 points vs Tennesse Tech throwing for 5 TD's, 1 rushing TD, and 2 FG's, amassing 498 yards of total offense.

They had a bad game and struggled against Kentucky, but managed to get the win.

vs Alabama, another top 15 team they scored 5 TD's and amassed 519 total yards, in a loss.

Vs Auburn 31 points, 381 total yards and 4 TD's and a FG

vs Miss State, they scored 41 points, 605 total yards, 5 TD's 2 FG's in a 41-31 win.

vs Texas on the road vs a top 5 team, 31 points, 283 yards of total offense 3 TD's and a FG.

Compare that to ND's numbers vs much weaker schedule.

vs Texas A&M top 15 team, 23 points, 356 yards, 2 TD's 3 FG's

Northern Illinois, ugly loss, 14 points, 2 TD's 296 yards vs a MAC team

Purdue, 578 total yards, 216 passing, 362 rushing, 8 TD's 1 FG, 1 defensive TD

Miami OH, MAC team, 28 points, 4 TD's, 428 total yards,

vs Louisville 4 TD's 1 FG 280 total yards

Vs Stanford 477 total yards, 49 points 7 TD's

Vs GTech 31 points, 4 TD's 1 FG, 385 yards

UGA played 6 P4 teams ND has played 5.

ND has played 1 ranked (top 15) opponent, UGA has played 3 ranked opponents (top 5, top 10, and top 15)

UGA averaged 34 points against 3 top 15 opponents.

Georgia's offense is just fine.

Good post and I tend to think of Clemson as having a good defense. Top 10 last year and pretty good this year. Virginia and NC State scored garbage points late.

If Clemson's offense wasn't dog water that day. Georgia would not have sniffed 20 points. Clemson was terrible offensively because Georgia's defense wouldn't let them breathe.
Toledo put 41 points and 450 yards of offense on Mississippi St. Miss me with the MAC talk.
Alabama is not good on defense period. Alabama had a great game plan to start the game against Georgia and got torched in the second half.
Georgia has more speed on offense than ND at wideout and that is all. Offensive line might be a little better because of injuries.

I agree that Alabama doesn’t have a good defense, but Georgia’s down game on offense game to Kentucky while ND’s down game on offense came to NIU. Kentucky seems to have a pretty good defense though I thought NIU’s defense played well against ND. I can’t put NIU’s defense on the level of Kentucky.

The Georgia and ND offenses are probably in the same area but I can’t put ND’s offense ahead of them right now.

Georgia's offense was bad against Texas as well. Their defense was dominant. Had the Texas qb's seeing ghost.

You must be watching different games than what Georgia actually played. UGA's defense has given up 31 points to Mississippi State and 41 points to Alabama.

I watched Georgia win at Texas last Saturday. Defense won the game for them.
