Don’t insult yourself. Act like u know something. It’s not about speed

we had a bad game plan, we were flat and Canes were ready.

ND cannot beat elite teams like SC, Mich State and Oklahoma if we are slow. But we beat these teams over the past few years.

Canes are not any faster. That’s bull shit and if u if anyone else CITE that as a liability u r ignorant

Were we a step slow in this game? Sure but not because we r slow. Because we were flat n out of position

It happens. And this was our Bad game
Sometimes u have a bad day. Sometimes u suck.
We sucked on both sides of the ball.

Our ints were either tipped or thrown to Miami
It’s not speed assholes
We seem to of lacked adrenaline and energy the whole game for what ever reason. But this seems to be an ongoing problem with BK as coach.

Excellent preparation will allow for and enhance your speed of play. Poor preparation results were on display Sat. night. That the staff says that,‘they did not see that coming’, means that the staff may have failed to consider the Miami defensive lines quickness advantage and had not prepared a plan to deal with it or even take to advantage of it. We have seen this before.

You hit on a key point: that the staff apparently did not anticipate Miami's speed (or quickness, in this case) and I ask myself how is that possible? I operate under the assumption that people who are paid well to coach college football teams should have some clue as to what they are doing. One would think that before even the best informed fan would see a development on the field the guys in the press box would have spotted it and been discussing a plan to counter it.

On another thread someone asked what those with knowledge of football would have done, and you get all these measured responses: "don't try to run outside if you can't outrun them; should have gone straight ahead and been happy with three-yard gains until we tired them out," etc., etc. I hear that and I think, "Thanks alot, Captain Obvious!"

So, Miami obviously tried to stop the run and dare Wimbush to pass. I ask myself, isn't that what every other team should have planned to do? I can just imagine the North Carolina State coaches talking: "Wimbush can't hit the ground when he spits, so let's make sure we concentrate on stopping the pass because he's bound to break out and we don't want it to happen against us."

So it appears ND's coaches either did not realize Miami was trying to prevent us from rushing, or were incapable of stopping them from doing so. Really bad coaches? Or a team that is not anywhere as good as we thought it was? Before we point solely to the coaches, let's remember many of these guys have come in from other programs, where one would assume somebody had a clue.

This is not a problem that is only Kelly's fault. We've heard it for decades. When we played Oregon State in the Fiesta Bowl with Davie, their players said they knew exactly what ND was doing and were surprised ND didn't have any wrinkles; when we played Ohio State under Weis, their players said they knew exactly what ND was doing. When we played Alabama under Kelly, the same thing.

I happen to think our team feasted on teams that were simply not fast/quick whatever you want to call it. And when we played teams that were, we got beat.

Wrong. Very wrong.

I was there. Could see plays develop. Wimbush never ran he had plenty of chances

Miami’s AB sux n all he has is a run up the middle that we did not prepare for or defend. He did it every game this year

We were flat n a step out of position all night. U could see it in warmups. We looked lethargic. Like we were drugged. No energy

And our second drive had s key drop. That could have changed the game. Taken the crowd down a bit. Changed field position. But claypool dropped.

They stacked the line. And Wimbush had a bad night throwing and did not run

Speed was not a factor at all 5 teams we beat this year could have beat us with our scheme n how we played

So, for some reason, Wimbush who has run well against everyone else was ordered not to run or afraid to run?

Dropping a pass on one of our first drives probably hurt, but if we scored there we would have only lost 41-15 or something like that.

Just because you thought we looked lethargic in warmups means we were flat and not prepared? (I remember watching the ND-Texas Cotton Bowl; they were jumping all over one another before the game; we looked like we were waiting for the bus to take us to a job we didn't like. The eye test said we were flat; the final score said we were better.

I don't think ND comes out flat; just tell me how that is possible, even with the world's worst coach?

Is that a resignation? Run up a white flag? Give up the fight?
Surely there have been successful strategies employed in similar circumstances.
Smaller and quick teams have weaknesses.

I'm not sure what it is: just an expression of maximum frustration, I guess.
