Do you really even care about a bowl game now?

After tonight's debacle, does a bowl game even interest you? If they play anyone decent, its going to be a loss anyway. And please stop with the nonsense that the couple extra weeks of practice can help and carry over to next season. I think its best to just bring another disappointing season to an end.

Pinstripe looking good now.

In short-no. I could care less

Who cares, they will be blown out in a New Years 6 game, and who cares if ND beats a 7-5 Miss State game in a bowl

BK is the best coach by far in the Era of Mediocrity. Remember, Lou averaged around 8 wins a year for his last few years after the Era began. So Kelly is the best since Lou.

Look higher than the head coach. The Era was brought on by inept leadership -- the Beauchamps, Wadsworths, obstinate administrations, etc. etc.

Make money and don’t embarrass the University. We need new leadership but it shouldn’t begin with the football coach.

I didn't care after the Miami loss.. NY6 bowl might mean something to recruits but after the playoffs were out of reach- who cares?

If ND is smart they’ll turn the invite down. They will absolutely get smoked. This team, like many in the past, has zero heart.

This would be really stupid thing to do.. you get many days of extra practice time and work out any kinks that could benefit you in the last game and prepare you for next season...

Read what I said in the very first post. The belief that a few extra practices are going to help and carry over from this December all the way to next September is absurd.

How did that work out against Alabama and Ohio st.?

Maybe its absurd to you but ask any coach and the will tell you that those extra 20 or so practices are really beneficial.. So I will take their opinion over yours.. You don't have to watch the bowl game you do have a choice of not tuning in..

Of course a coach will say that. But common sense tells you otherwise. Coaches spew so much BS most of the time its not even worth listening to.

We are all upset after yet another late November prime time loss and I think we will still be watching the bowl game and hoping to end the season on a good note.. I think you will be right there my friend on your couch glued to your TV.. Time heals all..

Practice for next season? I’m pretty sure extra practice won’t help a team that has no want to or fight in it.

I’m also pretty sure they’ll go 8-4 next season with or without extra practice. It’s not worth it getting blown out on national tv again. It hurts recruiting even more.

Is there any chance ND can get a NY6 birth?

If Alabama is not in the playoff, then they would be a great opponent.
We could get answers to ‘how soft was their schedule’ and how tough was ND’s SOS.
And Kelly would be given a chance to get revenge for 2012, get a W over a high ranked opponent, while playing ‘On the Road’

No, for the first time in 60 years, I will not be watching. I’m done. I will move onto to ND basketball and watch a coach who gets more with less.

Pinstripe looks nice right now. Go to NYC, possibly play Purdue, bring home a nice check, get that 10th win, and the extra practice sessions. It's not Army but not bad. Times have changed folks from the 1960's.If you can't play in the Playoffs then play an easy opponent and secure that next win. A win sets you up for the next season and shoots a little enthusiasm into the program.

Kind of like that Rutgers gimme, eh? The team really got a jolt from that and went on to lose five games the next season. ND football has become a money grubbing joke.

Yes because finishing with 10 wins gives Kelly a longer leash. The program needs him gone. We get no momentum from beating an Iowa State. Other than maybe holding onto the recruits we currently have.

That's right and that's exactly what I intend to do. ND football is no longer worth the investment of emotional, mental and financial energy.

You do realize that none of this bowl stuff is about you? Right? It's about the program. The players. If they truly want to play and put in the time, then I support their decision. If a few "leaders" want to go and peer pressure kicks in for the rest, then that might be an issue. If we are going to have some of our NFL talent opt out of the bowl game, fine, time to test next season's possible starters on a big stage. BW needs the work. Our Receivers need the work. Next years potential starting OL needs the work. Our Secondary needs the work. But, it's their call.

Toby, I agree it’s good for practice. BW needs a ton of practice. As a fan? Not So much

No.

Kelly doesn’t suck, if he sucked he be fired by now, he’s worse, he’s mediocre, good enough to keep his job, but not good enough to win important games.
Brian Kelly=Mike Leech
Bo Bellini is more apt.
