Deuce Knight commits

Verbal accepted....but still a wait-and-see component attached. Its early....very early.
Very very much wait and see when you are 15 months out and dealing with a well thought of player in the middle of the SEC.

With the portal, there really is no downside to taking 2 for either party (player or school). Bear isnt starting, I'm sure he would hit the portal in y2 if its not happening and would be covitted

Great pickup but I don’t get to excited about recruits in the current environment. There are so many decommitments every year amongst the top 500 recruits it’s insane.

Hopefully, Coach Free can maintain a good relationship and get this young man on campus. ND hasn’t been able to take the next step because of the lack of talent at the QB position. BK did some great things at ND but a poor job of recruiting and developing QBs which in turn hurt WR recruiting as well.

I say take them both. Both guys are high level prospects, but neither are generational dudes that will be ready day 1, or even year 1
We don't need him to be ready to play as a Freshman or even in yr 2 most likely. CJ Carr or the qb from Tennessee we have redshirting this yr will take care of those yrs

Somehow, I get the “Momma said she can buy me a jacket, but she can’t buy my a ND Education” vibe with this guy.

My thoughts of him from the other thread

Just watched his vids. Strong arm and great ball placement. He just needs to think a little quicker and trust his decisions. That should come with more reps. It was Sophmore film after all. He’s got a high ceiling. I like it.

When you have the transfer portal and immediate eligibility, don't say that so freely.

@Tyler James, without getting the cart too far ahead of the horse but with Knight's pledge, provided all QB's remain healthy and on their respective development tracks, do you feel this negates our need to visit the portal with Sam having exhausted his eligibility? With now, 3 consecutive high level commits, I'd imagine doing so would only upset the room's balance and allow for internal, organic competition. I appreciate your peering into the minds of Freeman and Parker and offer your educated insights. The more it settles in, the greater my confidence level is Knight stays true to his word and signs with ND during the early period. Also, just curious but any word from your sources as to how the BB camp feels about Knight jumping at the spot and leaving with him with his Plan B's. Not worried about him in the least as he's a hot commodity and would have to ask, what was lacking for him to not see all he needed to and pull the trigger? Thanks Tyler, appreciate all the great work and product you provide us and as always.....GO IRISH!!!!

Not sure if anyone's previously posted but just learned Deuce's older brother is Ty Fryfogle, who starred at WR for IN. Didn't know and lessens the concerns a bit about a kid from MS playing North of the Mason Dixie line, let alone the State of IN! Settles it for me and I'm all in with our next great QB for ND. GO IRISH!

Will this kid start ahead of CJ Carr? Based on film, I am not certain of that.

Me too. Think he'll sit, develop, then get his shot. But let the competition begin when the time comes! GO IRISH!
