Deuce Knight commits

Bear’s visiting this weekend. ND was rumored to take which ever player committed first. I really, really hope that Deuce has thought this all of the way thru.

What a change of events. I thought Bear was committing

I’m not insanely high on Deuce but he clearly has potential. I’m also not super confident of the commitment sticking, but I hope it does. He would be a great pick up
I am not overly impressed with this kid as well; however, I am not Mel Kiper, either.

Bear visited this past weekend for the Central Michigan game. He probably was going to commit. Deuce wanted that spot and committed first It appears. That’s how you recruit a QB.

In regards to his commit sticking, that is always up in the air for QB’s. I feel if Bear wants to commit, take him as well. Alabama took 2 QB’s last year.

and don't back out later, costing us Bear too. Deuce with the"outta nowhere" move. Believe in the Irish!!

I have same concerns about him sticking because of him moving from Lipscomb because of his home sickness. And because of the Dante Moore fiasco.

But his commitment video surprises me and maybe he is sincere.
I just saw his video. Cool stuff, makes you think he’s pretty certain about this. Still a long time till he’s in South Bend though.

Huge pickup that will bolster recruiting in other areas too. Great for the perception of the program for other high level recruits.

You “not say high on the kid” folks, may I ask what your profession is? I assume you work for Rivals, 247, etc? Or no?

Getting a highly sought after QB prospect is always good news.

Some people here would complain if we got every single 5 star we went after.

Dumb question: Would a Deuce be told about any NIL money? How does this exactly work?

How does Notre Dame formally deal with NIL? Are the amounts significant compared to other programs?

Sorry, I haven't kept up on details.

Yes he would

Agreed

If this kid is all that he's going to be offered NIL deals on a very big level from the SEC.

Very hard to turn that kind of money down.
Agree. There is a long ways and many SEC money offers until December-2024.

Minchey
Carr
Deuce

Damn it feels good to land elite talent at the most important position on the field

MF is a dawg in recruiting. This is one of many reasons you make him the HC

Deuce is a freak athlete
Minchey is not elite, Dante Moore is.

I am hopeful for the other 2.

Minchey could be elite with development and improvement. I agree that’s different than being elite from day 1 like Moore. But you can see he has the potential.

I don’t think Deuce is day 1 elite either. Carr we will see. But both have the potential. Guys that we’ve recruited in the past like Pyne clearly we’re not going to be elite even with good coaching.

Agree regarding Knight. Super athlete, I agree.

I do not believe ND will entertain any nil discussions until enrollment...however Hartman is free to do so and has been very open a out his nil deals since arriving

Can't win without a QB so it starts with him. Would've loved to have been a fly on the wall with the staff this past week. Talking to both candidates, we can only take one.. yada yada. Seems a bit out of the blue but scheduled on campus for OSU so fans will get a chance to interact with him and get a feel. Great pick up and we're definitely building QB depth, essential in today's CFB world. Like others, just hope he sticks. Go Irish!

They won't. Marcus Freeman has stated that repeatedly.

Move him to WR and take Bear as qb
No Way Wtf GIF by Harlem

He's very good.

Landing those 3 is an elite stretch of QB recruiting.

Best 3 year stretch since....a long time
I am not Mel Kiper, that said, calling Deuce Knight elite as a QB is a stretch to me.

Great athlete. I agree.

This is completely inaccurate

They talk to players about NIL a lot

And he has stated such many times
Unlike many schools, Notre Dame or anyone associated with Notre Dame will not pay up front before the kid enrolls for for a CFB player, unlike, again, many other schools, who pay for players.

No shit

But they talk to the players about the oppurtunities that ND can provide in NIL a lot

Yes he would

How does it actually work and what are the dollar amounts?

Since my post, some say ND discusses NIL after enrollment.

That might be, but how does ND money compare to say Alabama, Georgia, or Ohio State?

As to that, it sure seems self defeating if ND doesn't discuss this competitively.

Get a good QB like Hartman, who has the grades and character. Surely he can handle a discussion about competitive money, now that ND too is in the NIL game.

Same for new HS recruits.

I do not feel comfortable this one will stick. It was either move it or lose it. Definitely take two

Verbal accepted....but still a wait-and-see component attached. Its early....very early.
