We found out what we are tonight.. this game wasn't close to begin with. USC will beat us by 2 touchdowns at home then we may get lucky at Stanford.

Also congrats to Clemson, you guys played much better and deserved this win.

Fail post of the year.

Go play in traffic.

You are an idiot. We were clearly the better team tonight but we got in a hole and then turned the ball over. In dry conditions we win by three touchdowns! Bad final call by Kelly. We need to get EB in to the game (sorry Corey.) But I was proud of our boys. We can play with anyone. And you jcf are just a...

we still lost and got dominated in the first half... it should have been 30-3. the players lost the first half and came back stronger in the 2nd, minus terrible turnovers, so I give them credit. kelly's play calling didnt help either so it was a team effort in the loss.

either way I was wrong in posting we were going to be clowns but I still think usc is a better team and will beat us by 2 touchdowns if we play this way against them.

You're worrying about SC?
Let's take care of navy first and then take them on.
Don't sell this team short..they're fighters man. Point proven tonight.

we got killed on the first two drives not because of turnovers but keep lying to yourself. the offense played terrible in the first half, no excuses. I am proud the team came back in the second half though, that is great and helps down the road but I will say it again... if we play like that in the first half against usc it won't be 14-3 but 30-3 and they will run up the score if possible.

OP, I"m not really sure I can comprehend the level of stupidity you're displaying right now. Seriously. There is not a team in the land that doesn't play a bad half of football and say.. "if they play like that against such and such...". Get a grip.

The first two drives. Yeah, when you're in a place such as Clemson, the place is all jacked up and so are both teams, things can get crazy quickly. Its pretty common knowledge that when you go into a place like that, you weather that initial storm and then play ball. The D settled in nicely IMO and kept them in check. They were put in bad spots twice by turnovers. Take those turnovers out and its an ND win.

lot of people will be going on ignore after tonight. justacollegefan is one

good ignore me because you live in your imaginary world, like I care. we don't even know how good clemson is right now. I think they are good, especially at home, but when you watch bama they have men all over the field and only lack

the reason I am not stupid is that the offense looked like crap during that first half and if it wasn't for some clemson mistakes we were going to get blown out. the defense did step up, which was nice to see, but I mention usc because I think they are better than clemson and wold have put up more points on us, even at home because our home field hasn't mentioned a lot for years.

whatever I said I was wrong to say we were "clowns" because the kids didn't give up.

The game still came down to turnovers, drop passes, inexperienced QB play, tentative play calling in the first half, and most importantly not kicking the extra after the first touchdown. You never leave points on the field. Clemson played well enough, but Notre Dame had receivers running free all over the field all night long. Both teams played well and Clemson's defensive line was dominant most of the game. They were well prepared, I guess thats why you schedule your bi week before big games.

we didnt score a touchdown in the first half so I am assuming you mean the second. anyway I agree, I have no idea why you would go for 2pts when you are only down a field goal and touchdown with an extra pt.

hey whatever.. I agree with everything you said and although we lost I feel stupid for not thinking these kids would come back and starting this post, obviously ole miss wins clown team ;)

hey congrats on the win, I picked you guys to beat us 34-31. I feel stupid for making this post but the way the game was going I really thought a blowout was coming so I am proud of how the kids came back and I deserve some harsh words. being a notre dame fan, especially the past 25 years, it was common for our teams to give up but they didn't.

also ignore that guy, he is just mad because he thinks you played with deflated footballs as well :D

Me neither but I really don't understand people who sat in the stands or in their living room using we. Even worse IMO.

I'm sorry. I guess i use we when referring to Clemson because I spent 4 years going to school there and I consider myself part of the Clemson "family" But youre right, I didnt play tonight. I could only watch as THEY handed yall a loss.

Dude please! ND played hard and damn near won. If that game had been another 2 mins longer ND would have won it. ND is a good football team.

Let me ask you something. WHY are you going to lose to USC by two TDs? Let me answer for you... Because Clemson isn't that good and you just lost to them right? Look, we aren't a great football team right now, but we can play with anyone in the country and beat them on a given day. I think we'd beat USC, and I think ND can too.

Impartial Buckeye here.

Taking nothing away from Clemson, they have a very good football team, but TOs and bonehead plays beat N.D. The final stats clearly favor N.D. And believe me, as a Buckeye, I know all about TOs keeping the other team in the game. Been watching that all year. With today's parity in CF, it's very, very hard to go undefeated - you guys still have a chance for a playoff spot.

Take away one turnover and most likely ND wins the game, even with all of the other mistakes they made. Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda. Hats off to Clemson, they did what they had to to win and they deserve it. But the reality is, ND did not get blown out, they won almost every stat line in the game. Turnovers and some stupid play calling sunk them at the end.

Truthfully, the ND defense stood pretty tall in this game once they weathered the storm at the beginning. They were put in a bad spot and gave up 10 points. Again, take a couple turnovers away and they gave up 14pts straight up. Not bad IMO.

OP, Kizer will be even better by the time USC comes to town. I expect a lot of pain for SC in that game honestly.

Citing statistics is the age old losers game that the better team did not win.

Bwhahaha... Keep telling yourself that. Meanwhile Clemson's coordinators already admitted to letting off of Notre Dame's throat in the second half by going conservative in their play calling.

Because, some people actually darkened the doors of the universities they support and contribute to the success of Athletics by donating to scholarship funds and facilities upgrades. So yeah, if somebody wants to say we, who are you to judge their level of involvement?

So are these coordinators spouting sour lemons over a close win, or covering their butts on almost letting the game slip away?

Hard fought game and the team that made the least mistakes won. Congrats

F$&k Off Ass Clown. I played the game all the way to a coffee break at the highest level and still don't use the word we when talking about a football game. Unless I'm playing or coaching. Sorry! Ummm no I'm not.

The only way to settle this dispute is to ask the players themselves if fans have the right to say "we". All we ever hear anymore is about the 12th man, crowd noise, white outs, black outs, and anything else that gets the crowd involved. This is supposed to contribute to the game. I have heard ND players say that home crowds that are excited and loud make them play better. So, if the players or staff don't mind, then the issue should be settled. Yes?? Don't us fans have more to worry about concerning our respective teams than if someone says "we"?

Whatever. I just gave you the perspective of an ex player who has a lot of friends who are ex players at a large variety of colleges and all say the same thing. But what do I know and anyway don't know if you'd ever get an honest answer without being a fly on the wall. Media face and private face being different breeds of cat.

You seem very level headed. I don't care what the players think. Whether I am fronting capital for a restaurant as a silent partner, or donating money for a facility upgrade, I am part of that. I am invested in that. Maybe I'm not the one flipping the burgers, but without me and people like me, those employees wouldn't be earning a wage. Same thing with sports, especially in college which is primarily donation driven. Hey you like practicing in that new indoor facility? Did you enjoy your new players lounge? How about the athletic dorms? Do enjoy your scholarship? Yeah, well WE were all chipping in to make that happen before the days of huge TV deals and we continue that support today. Everybody wants help getting up from the bottom, then they act like they got there on their own. Well you didn't, neither did the players before or after you.

I think they are saying it because the fans already knew it. At one point WE (just for you Syd4ND) didn't even try to pass for first downs, just kept running the ball. Eventually, with enough 3 and outs, the defense started to wear down. It was no doubt a good effort by ND. They took advantage of what they should have to get back in it.

We gave them 17 points on short field situations with two turnovers and a shanked punt. We held them UNDER 300 yards of total offense, and put up 437 yards of our own, even with dropped passes all over the place and four turnovers. Did you even watch the game?

Passes might of ended up in Irish defender hands too. You don't know, and to try and push we could of "beat you worse" agenda is just really sad given Clemson was lucky the game didn't end up in OT.

........and this kind of talk reminds me of the bluster some FSU fans bring here. Must be an ACC thingy, huh?

And now for a little perspective. You guys played the now #6 team in the country, at their place, at night, in one of the loudest stadiums in the country, lost the turn-over battle 4-1, lost the sack battle 4-0, played in damn near monsoon conditions (I know if rained on both sides of the field but weather like that makes for weird games), beat them in every stat but rushing and you lost by 2 points with a chance to tie it up in the last seconds of the game. Hardly the makings of doom and gloom some are predicting.

P.S. With a Freshman QB making his second (I believe) start.

You must have competed in the long jump, because that was a pretty big leap. It was an Irish fan that said y'all would beat us by three TD's in dry conditions. What is sad is the fact some of you can't accept that Clemson played not to lose and it almost cost them the game. Had we stayed aggressive, we win by more than 2. Furthermore, had we passed more it could have ended up in Irish defender hands, but after seeing how well your receivers were catching their own passes, I doubt it.

Sour grapes, must be a Notre Dame thingy...

Deflection, huh? Well, truth is Clemson only won by two and was lucky to escape OT.. Neither of us will ever know what would of happened if Clemson wouldn't of "eased up on the throttle."

I offered my congrats in the my first post on this thread, but there's no reason to act like a dill weed when an Irish fan doesn't agree with you on an Irish board after a tough Irish loss.

Again hard fought game, the team that made the least mistakes won.

How was that deflection, or did you just read that last sentence? I addressed your comments, then you deflected. Also, how was I acting like a "dill weed"? I literally modeled my responses after your posts. You are the one who was critical of the truth about how that game played out and you slighted the ACC with your sour grapes comment at the end. I was impressed with Notre Dame on the field, not so much off the field.

I don't agree with your thoughts that Clemson would of beaten the Irish badly if they hadn't gone conservative and no amount of posts from you, or any other Clemson fan is going to change my mind.

If you're here on a Monday to rub salt in the wounds, yeah that's dill weed Game is over, the board will mourn and kibitz for a while and move on to Navy. What more do you want from Irish posters?

As far as Irish fans go, every face base has some bad apples even Clemson.

I never said we'd beat you badly, I just said it is more than a 2 point margin. Our unwillingness to get manageable 1st downs through the air, did cause our defense to wear down. It's not an opinion, you can literally see that on tape. The offensive coordinators admitted they wanted to kept the ball in #4 and #9's hands.

I am only here because this board sends emails saying someone has replied to a topic that was started Sat/Sun.

Guess you and I have a different meaning of "letting off of ND"s throat." :D

Still just conjecture that passing would of resulted in more points for Clemson, but whatever floats your boat. Good luck to the Tigers going forward.

Y'all will decimate SC. I would be more worried about Navy and Stanford if I were you. Clemson was your hardest game of the year, you still have a shot at winning out.
