Can we have one off-season without controversy?

not sure there's any controversy here, but I agree with your sentiments

You're probably right, wicker, this isnt really controversy. How about an off season with peace and quiet and no surprises. On the other hand if this is as bad as it gets I'll relax.

In an age of message boards and ESPN.

When so many people come here just to hear the latest gossip or news? This has always been here. It is just better reported now.

High profile transfers aren't necessarily controversy. They happen at all of the big boy schools -- especially when #'s get above 85.

I just wonder then how many high profile potential starters have transferred out of Bama, OSU, Oregon, or FSU over the last couple of years.

We're on a roll with high profile transfers/suspensions.

2012 - Aaron Lynch
2013 - Golson and Kiel
2014 - The five players to academics
2015 - Golson

a confusing situation, from that statement thoughts could be
an over-signing casualty
or
the comments re family conjure up thoughts of the Hood decision (family); and what doing best for the family can imply.

This was a prospect, that I posted a post by another poster's scouting report on. He would have been a situational player for ND's defense, not a kid that would have been a starter. His body frame is not one to add the typical size for a DE.

Not an over signing issue. We would offer one less 5th year guy.

Unfortunately it may be academics. No shame there. I doubt many of us that post here could get into Notre Dame (without a ticket).

yea^; I left out academics and was heading back to edit, but you best me to it.

From the banter, and Bo's limited comments, it does tend to lean that way.
When I saw UCLA as one of his consideration, it was an "are you kidding me" moment.
But Mora is bringing UCLA ethics to SEC stature so it would seem a likely possibility. The other mentioned consideration was Tulane.
