The question becomes in a midseason game at Alabama what cupcake does Alabama schedule the week before. And how early in the season will they come to south bend because they surely aren't coming after mid October

Nothing wrong with scheduling wisely. We used to do that ourselves, with strategic byes before big games, etc...As it has gotten more difficult to squeeze teams into our schedule as there are virtually no independents left, that has become much harder. And as the earlier comments reflected, Alabama has played at Notre Dame twice: Both times the games were in mid-November.

Games are just being talked about, so who knows if they will come to pass. Have to imagine that Saban will be long gone if these games happen.
