AP 20 about right

Win out and it will be close to top 10 and that would be a victory after the start this team had with a first year coach and a tough schedule
If ND wins its next three games, plus a bowl game against a top 15 team they will finish inside the top 10. Stay healthy...pound Navy and B.C. then run the ball down S.C.'s throat and get those early signatures in and get ready for the bowl game.

Need a QB though ready to compete for the starting spot next year.

Agree…. 9-3 with wins vs Clemson and usc way better than 9-3 and and only losing to the top teams

Thank god then for those losses to Marshall and Stanford.
11-1 is CFP so there's that. My point is we have an opportunity to have major momentum going into the bowl game and next year with wins vs clemson and USC. 9-3 with losses to OSU, Clemson, USC would have pretty much been status quo.

I know what you are saying. What I am saying is that a great win (Clemson) and a great loss (Stanford) pretty much cancel one another out. But yes, winning out including the bowl game would show impressive progress for Freeman.

Over time I have seen that it depends on the programs immediate history as regards how much big wins help and big losses hurt.

Alabama being the most extreme example of wins easily meaning more than losses.

About 1/2 the teams in front of us would have to lose over the next 3 weeks which will happen. We can also get jumped from teams behind us considering Navy and BC are no good for SOS. USC would have to beat UCLA and we would have to beat USC. I think UCLA beats them. Lsu would have to lose twice which could happen with a letdown and 2 tough road games. Liberty and Tulane would have to lose and Ohio State would have to beat Michigan for our SOS.
