After the Cuse game

your last drive vs Utah was criminal! 8 penalties? and 2 roughing the passer calls that the league actually apologized for! That’s a joke ! Maybe they are a bit unhappy with the USC decision to leave the P12?

A lot of people think that, but I just think it is typical Pac-12 incompetence. At the end of the first half of the Arizona game we completed a pass to around the Arizona 8 or so. There was little time on the clock, and it was a first down. We ran up to ground the ball, but the clock hadn't stopped for the first down like it should until the chains are set. The ref held the ball until time expired. Riley complained and rather than review the play re clock stoppage, the refs just ended the half.

Then during the half, they apologized and said they were wrong. Riley asked why they didn't review it, they just said we handled it wrongly. That was at least 3 points. But also, on one or our TDs, our running back was clearly moving before the snap, No call, we get 6 points.

A few years ago, Standford was down to us with little time on the clock, during their winning drive the clock would start until well after the ball was snapped and would stop before a player was fully down. Seems like anti-SC bias right? Then you watch other games and see phantom call, bad ball marks against other teams.

The Pac-12 refs are just the worst in football.

maybe, but 8 penalties on 1 game winning drive? hmm?

It's hard to see ND beating a top 10 team with our QB. I mean he missed one of the largest humans on the field from 3 yards. He runs at the last second for life instead of when people are covered. He is completing 50% and if you take out the pitches they count as passes its more like 45%.

Your going against a dominate front, you will have to pass I would think. The only hope is Clemson's QB is as lost as ours I hear.

Maybe its which QB goes over 50%?

Here is an example from the Oregon State of why I think, that while the Pav-12 has horrifically bad refereeing, it is not biased. Same crew as the SC v. Utah game.

In the Oregon State game Damien Martinez gets a handoff, lane up the middle for a big run (possibly to the house), whistle blows just as he breaks through the line. Michael Mothershed to the mic, “Oregon St did not call a timeout”. So, they blew it dead for no reason. To announce that Oregon hadn't done something. Even if that needed to be announced it could have waited until after the play.

It is just so terrible that pretty much every team could feel like it was biased. One of my rules for life is to never impute malice to something that can be explained through incompetence. I think that applies here.

Keep it close and anything can happen. Clemson is capable of blowing us out if we are not careful. But I think it will be close.
