I just watched highlites from last years ND vs Michigan State fiasco in Southbend. I saw one play where a Sparton running back went right up the gut against the Irish for a 75 yard TD run !@!. He ran right by Jerry Tillery, Nyles Morgan, Tevon Coney, and Drue Tranquill ! They looked like Tot football players trying to tackle Jim Brown for Godssakes !! Was BVG that bad?!! Were the Irish players I mentioned that bad?!! Will Elko bring out a more capable defense ??!!! We will find out tonight !! Body by Ballis or body by Krispey creme donuts !!
If the Irish dominate like I project--forget about Mullin !! Elko will be next in line to coach the Irish when Kelly retires !!

He has been in the spot light all season for me
And has by far been a most pleasant surprise

Last year's Mich St game was when I realized we were in for a very bad year. Texas was alarming, but thought maybe first game stumble. Nevada was a nice practice game that gave false comfort. Then MSU scores 36 pts against us at home, destroys our OL and running game, and made us look soft. For me, a lot more than Elko are in the spotlight tonight. Harry's OL better show up and he and Long better game plan to handle all the damn pressure packages MSU uses with their front seven. Rees and Alexander better get Wimbush and his receivers in sync, and the receivers better be mentally ready to fight for their routes, etc... and yes, Elko's defense better tackle better than last week, much less last year; and they better penetrate at the LOS and put our linebackers in position to bring pressure to both the running and passing game, and make plays to contain their QB runs/scrambles. This is a damn important game for the Irish on lots of levels. Should be a loud hostile environment and perfect test for this year's team. Irish by seven!

Well.....the defense was so atrocious it could only perform better. Seriously. They could have collectively said they would coach themselves and it been a better defense.

So it's nice that Elko isn't the same as BVG was. That's been a nice surprise.

The spotlight is on BK. As it should be. Dumb decisions at the most crucial times.... Is what always makes sure we lose big games.
